Freezing for a moment, Zivon ultimately turned to look at Xavia before asking, “…Hey, am I not on your side? Are you jealous or something?”
“…Again, it’s your fault for being so charming…”
Smiling subtly, Zivon then teased, “Instead of blaming me for that, shouldn’t you be feeling thankful for having such a capable and loyal man like me as your lover? That aside, can you blame my fans for having good taste?”
Though anyone else would’ve surely sounded cocky if they said that, somehow, Zivon saying it simply felt right. Rolling her eyes, Xavia then chuckled as she replied, “As they say, potters will always praise their own pots!”
After giving his own chuckle, Zivon then said, “No longer mad with me?”
…Wait. Had he just been trying to cheer her up…? Pleasantly surprised by this, Xavia eventually replied, “…It’s not like I was mad at you in the first place… Look, while I’m pleased that you stood up for me earlier, try not to disgrace Fiona like that next time… Remember, she saved your life back then. Also… if your relationship with her goes too awry, I’ll surely be the one blamed in the end…”
“Fine, we’ll do that… On one condition. You can’t let anyone slap you like that anymore… Got that?” said Zivon as his downcast eyes remained glued on the red mark on Xavia’s cheek.
Realizing that he was still simply concerned for her, Xavia ended up muttering, “Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt that much… After applying some medicine, I’m sure the swelling will go away… Truth be told, I had been expecting this slap…”
“…Come again?”
