Due to how exhausted she was, Xavia fell asleep almost instantaneously… and with the curtains drawn, the two looked like angels as they slept amidst the dim lighting…

Looking at the duo with a gentle gaze, Mark eventually tucked them in before saying, “…You should get some rest now, Matthew… I’ll notify you if Yulia has any further negative reactions.”

“Got it,” replied Matthew, who knew his friend well enough to not disagree. After all, back when they were abroad, he remembered how Mark would stay up all night just looking at her photo… Now that he could see her up close, Matthew was pretty sure that Mark wasn’t about to let this chance pass… Shaking his head, Matthew then returned to his room to get a well-deserved rest…

As for Mark, it was just as Matthew had imagined. The man felt a great sense of fulfillment just from looking at the two… If only he could freeze time right now…

Alas, his train of thought was cut short when his phone suddenly began ringing. Quickly answering the call, he then went over to the balcony before whispering, “What is it, Mom?”

“Are you seriously asking me what’s wrong after causing such a stir? Look, please just tell me if the news is real… Is she truly your daughter…?” replied Mrs. Talton.

She, for one, wasn’t one who watched the news often, and she had only learned of all that had happened when a few of her co-workers congratulated her earlier that day. Regardless, Mrs. Talton had already been rather displeased when Xavia had gotten involved with Stefan at the start, so she wasn’t about to let the same happen to her other son!

“She isn’t… Look, things are just a bit complicated at the moment…” muttered Mark.

“…Since she isn’t yours, then why aren’t you clarifying your relationship already? Your reputation is at risk here, you know? If you’re unsure how to handle the situation, then I’ll have your father deal with it for you,” replied Mrs. Talton.
