Pregnant and Favored: See You in the Morning, Young Master novel Chapter 1280

“What’ll happen if I don’t?” interrupted Zivon in an almost casual tone.

With how indifferent Zivon was being, Hershel couldn’t help but fall silent for a moment. Alas, before he could even come up with a reply, Zivon added, “You know, you’ve yet to apologize to the woman whom you’ve failed and hurt throughout these years. You’re just focused on the Burton Group’s interests, aren’t you? What makes you think that someone as heartless as you deserves to command me?”

“Y-you…!” roared Hershel as he got to his feet, his face as red as a tomato. How dare he say that to him…?!

Upon seeing that, Harold—who had been watching the situation play out from the very beginning—quickly held Hershel back while saying, “Alright, that’s quite enough… We already have a foot in the grave, so is there really a point in getting angry at the boy? That aside… I think you aren’t thinking things through regarding your decision to leave the Burton Group.”

“Disregarding the fact that you may face a whole lot of unnecessary trouble on your own, allow me to remind you that your grandmother had placed a lot of importance on the Burton Group throughout her lifetime. With that said, don’t you think you should be responsible for the company till the very end? Besides, it’s not like anyone else here would be capable enough to be the Burton Group’s chairman.”

Clearing his throat, Dylan replied, “…You can’t seriously say that when I, the vice -chairman, am standing before you, right…? Don’t forget my Keith either. He’s capable of handling big projects as well, you know?”

Upon hearing that, Charles added, “After studying abroad for so long, I’m also quite confident that I’m much more capable now!”

Stroking his beard, Harold replied, “Words are cheap, you know? That aside, based on your current capabilities, it’ll be a miracle if the Burton Group doesn’t go bankrupt by the end of the year! Even if that doesn’t happen, we’ll definitely fall out of the top five hundred companies. Look, I’m not saying this to bring you down on purpose or anything, but just think about what I said for a moment. Do you really think you’re capable enough to take up the mantle?”

After hearing all that, everyone could only silently exchange glances. They knew, after all, that Harold had a point, and the fact that Zivon had publicly declared all this meant that taking up the position would be harder than ever now…

Since nobody was refuting his words, Harold added, “I’ve watched you grow, Zivon, and I know all of your grandmother’s hopes and expectations of you. With that said, I’m extremely sure that she wouldn’t want to see you split up with the rest of the Burtons. Alright, here’s a suggestion.”
