Zivon was pretty much synonymous with the Burton Group in the past few years. At the start, the group had already been in the top five hundred companies, but ever since Zivon joined, they had literally skyrocketed to the top of the food chain. With that said, the Burton Group wouldn’t have achieved its current glory without Zivon’s help. Because of all that, if Zivon was to back out now, then the Burton Group would definitely suffer!

Feeling angrier the more he thought about it, Hershel added, “Come back home immediately…!”

“Don’t worry, I’m coming back once I’m done settling things here,” replied Zivon in an icy tone before hanging up…

Honestly, Hershel hadn’t been much of a father figure throughout his lifetime. That man had only shown a bit more interest in him after he had proven his value, and even then, the ‘care’ Hershel had shown was never sincere. Now that he knew how badly Hershel had treated his mother, he had zero reason to tolerate that man any further.

Shaking his head, Zivon then slipped his cell phone away before turning to look at Wendy as he said, “It’s no longer safe for you to live alone now. Pack up and move to Darlsbury with me.”

Though overjoyed to hear that, she couldn’t help but feel equally as worried as she asked, “…Is… that really alright…?”

“Why wouldn’t it be? You’re my mother, remember?”

The second she heard him call her his mother, Wendy couldn’t help but feel her heart skip a beat. After so many years of hoping that he’d call her that again… Her wish finally came true! Though she knew that it wasn’t going to be easy for her to get used to living there, she wasn’t about to say no to Zivon’s suggestion after all that she had been through!

“G-Got it…! I’ll start packing up immediately…!” exclaimed the woman as she ran into her home to start preparing for the move.

In all honesty, she looked more like a child who was afraid of getting abandoned rather than an actual mother… and that very thought made Zivon feel slightly guilty. After all, had he actually taken the time to investigate all this properly before this, then his mother wouldn’t have had to suffer for so long…
