Each of Dana’s words was brimming with sadness, and before Zivon could even reply, the old woman knelt before him before adding, “Please, Young Master Burton…! I beg of you…!”
By this point, all Zivon could do was lower his gaze. He, for one, couldn’t even imagine Sophia trying to calm herself by getting drunk, nor could he imagine her crying… As Zivon remained momentarily at a loss at how to reply, Xavia—who had been watching all this from afar—couldn’t help but feel awful.
Xavia had already been able to tell how much Dana cared for Sophia from the first time they met, and judging from how agonized the kneeling woman now sounded… She could tell that all she had just said was the real deal. That the devastated Sophia truly had been suffering ever since that event… It was a clear sign to Xavia that these two were actually good people…
Alas, Zivon was already in love with her. If only that wasn’t the case, then Xavia would’ve gladly given Zivon and Sophia her blessings…
In the end, she pursed her lips before sending Zivon a message that stated, ‘You should go meet her… At the end of the day, you’re both still friends, so I don’t mind.’
Upon reading the message, he raised a slight brow before turning to look up at the second floor… and there Xavia was, peeking from the corner of the staircase. Realizing that he had spotted her, Xavia then nodded, a clear sign for him to proceed with her suggestion.
Truth be told, he would’ve thought of something himself. After all, he was the one who had dragged Sophia into all this. He never expected Xavia to take the initiative to suggest such a thing, though… It made him think that though his woman was easily jealous, she was simultaneously the kindest and most mindful person alive… Because of that, he knew that he now had to care even more for her feelings.
After a brief pause, Zivon was prompted to say, “…Please get up, Auntie… I’ll accompany you back… Just give me a moment to get a change.”
Startled that her pleading work, Dana quickly got to her feet before replying, “T-thank you…! Thank you so much…!”
Once the grateful woman had walked off, Zivon headed up the stairs before pulling Xavia into the changing room with him. Before she could say a thing, Zivon declared, “I’ll just go over and talk to her for a bit. It probably won’t take over twenty minutes.”
