Though Zivon’s expression was calm, his body radiated an icy aura that kept people at bay. Nathan himself was trembling as he meekly muttered, “A-according to the doctor, Miss Lockhart simply has a drug allergy, and it’s similar to someone developing a drug-resistant response toward a vaccination… From what I’ve been told, the discomfort will fade in a day or two, so please don’t over worry yourself…”
Unfortunately for Nathan, there was no way Zivon was going to worry any less after hearing that. After all, that woman was already pretty weak to begin with. This sickness was only going to make her suffer more than she should…!
Regardless, while it was true that he wouldn’t have been able to anticipate any of this—since she had been perfectly fine the night before—, the fact remained that he hadn’t been by her side throughout her discomforting day. It made him feel like a total jerk for not paying more attention to her…
In the end, Zivon ordered, “…Come up with an acceptable reason to sever my relationship with Sophia. Pronto.”
Upon hearing that, Nathan could already feel a headache coming. Due to what Dana had done, the internet was currently ablaze with praise for Sophia. After all, she had finally obtained what she sought after hiding her love for so long! With that said, it was easier said than done for Nathan to deal with the situation with minimal hitches…
Still, he knew there was no point arguing with Zivon, so Nathan simply got his phone out and began looking through what data he could find… and shortly after, he replied in a serious tone, “…About half an hour since the news was released, the internet has been reacting extremely positively… So positive, in fact, that all our investors and partners have given their blessings as well. From what I can tell, all our stocks will rise a bit tonight…”
“While I understand your feelings for Miss Lockhart, announcing the end of your relationship now will bring a sea of disadvantages to us, both popularity-wise, and business-wise. That aside, once people realize that you chose Miss Lockhart instead, she’ll be the one impacted most by all this… With that said… Could you wait a bit before making this dire decision…?”
His words were sincere, and even if he knew that there was a chance that Zivon would retort, Nathan placed higher importance on his status as that man’s secretary.
Naturally, Zivon knew all this. Why else hadn’t he chased after her back at the banquet? However, he had been placing too much importance on the company and the potential consequences. It was high time he looked after her instead! After all, his woman shouldn’t be treated this way!
