Following that, Zivon hung up, leaving Harold speechless. Since he had his phone on loudspeaker, everyone inside had heard Zivon’s response… and boy, was it awkward now. After all, not only had he failed to reply to Dolly’s earlier message, but he had hung up even after finding out that Xavia was now in the hospital?
While it was true that Xavia knew how busy Zivon could be, it didn’t change the fact that her illness made her yearn for him… In the end, the upset woman was prompted to say, “…I’m sure he’s busy with much more important things… E-either way, don’t worry about it… I’m a bit thirsty, so could you get me some water, Dolly…?”
“…O-oh, sure! Also, yeah, he’s probably just plagued with work right now! Here’s your water… Speaking of which, you should be starving now, right?” replied Dolly as she handed Xavia a glass of water.
Before Xavia could reply, Bianca got to her feet before saying, “I’m sure she is. Give me a moment. I’ll come back with some food soon.”
Once Bianca was gone, Harold walked up to Xavia’s side while muttering, “You truly are an understanding one… That aside, I’m sure the boy will be here the second he’s done with work. With that said, rest up and I’m sure he’ll be here before you’re done eating!”
With how concerned Dolly and Teacher were, Xavia couldn’t help but feel touched as she replied, “…Yeah, I think so too. Speaking of which… I’m sorry for troubling you… I hadn’t expected to fall sick out of the blue…”
Stroking his beard, Harold then said in a serious tone, “What are you even going on about? Regardless, if you fall sick due to exhaustion again, I’ll be the one blamed, you know? With that said, take a week off, and if you come over, I’ll chase you off! Got that? Now, if there isn’t anything else, I’ll be taking my leave.”
Since Xavia gave no reply, Harold then dusted his sleeves before leaving…
Even though he had said it that way, Xavia could tell that he was simply concerned about her, and that made her smile. Come to think of it, Harold had been treating her particularly well recently… Perhaps it was because he now knew that she was Celia’s adopted granddaughter… Even so, he was still passing down all his great knowledge to her without asking for anything in return. That alone told Xavia how much of a good person he was…
