The rest of their time together was pretty much a blur to Xavia… and she only snapped out of it when Zivon grabbed her by the wrist—as she was getting off the car to head home—and asked, “…Are you sure you’re not mad…?”
Upon hearing that, Xavia nodded in response. After all, there was really no point in being mad, especially since the deal had already been made. That aside, she also understood his reasoning for doing all this, and that even he had been forced to do all this…
Regardless, now that Xavia had given him the green light, Zivon met up with Sophia again the next morning…
“As stated before, we’ll proceed with the three-month ‘blind date’ as written in the app’s rules, President Harrison. I appreciate your help, and I’ll do my best to assist you in the future. Don’t worry, it’ll all be over once the contract ends,” said Zivon, almost as though he only treated their date like some regular business collaboration.
Regardless, Sophia knew that she couldn’t really say no to him since his decision was fuelled by the urge to fulfill Ava’s final wish. Then again, it wasn’t like she had ever said no to him before.
With that in mind, Sophia sighed before replying, “Of course, Mr. Burton. However, do remember to appease Miss Lockhart after this. I really don’t want this fake romance of ours to interfere with your relationship with her. Aside from that, I promise that I won’t burden you throughout these three months, and we can just get along like we normally do.”
She, for one, had already given up the thought of him seeing her as anything more than a co-worker. What’s more, she had heard what had happened between her mother and Xavia, and that alone showed just how kind Xavia was…
Either way, Zivon nodded as he said, “Rest assured, President Harrison. She won’t misunderstand or cause you any problems.”
Following that, he went on Facebook and posted, ‘In accordance with the app’s rules and to honor my grandmother’s final wish, I’ll start dating President Harrison for three months from today onward. If we can’t develop a proper relationship outside of work until then, we’ll break up peacefully.’
The fact that he had stated his reasoning for their date clearly showed that he didn’t really have any feelings for her, and Sophia couldn’t help but lower her gaze when she read it…
