Though Xavia had initially thought that Jenna was just trying to ruin their relationship, now that she knew all this, the depression hit hard. Even if Zivon and Sophia were there for business reasons, the fact that they were together still made Xavia’s heart ache… Perhaps… it really was for the best if Zivon and Sophia were together…
Her train of thought was cut short when she suddenly felt a hand gently grabbing her arm, followed by a familiar voice saying, “Xavia.”
Before Xavia could respond, she was pulled to a quiet corner of the balcony… and it was only then when she was finally able to see Keith’s charming face. Though she was startled by his actions, she quickly drew a line as she replied, “…What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be accompanying Jenna for her maternity check-up?”
Sensing how icy Xavia’s voice was, Keith lowered his gaze for a bit before saying, “…Look, I know you’re mad that I helped Jenna, but it was necessary not only to save my family’s name, but also so I could help you. You see, now that Jenna is officially with me, she can no longer snatch Uncle Zivon from you. Also… here. This memory card contains a few pictures of her meeting up with the dean. Keep it safe.”
Upon receiving the memory card, Xavia couldn’t help but stare at him in disbelief. He… had only gotten with Jenna for her sake…? What’s more, he had even gotten her new evidence…! Unsure how to even thank him, Xavia replied, “K-Keith, I-”
“Xavia. I know I used to be a b*stard, but you save me from all that. Because of you, I was finally able to enjoy life a bit more… With that said, this is the least I can do for you… Though I have no right to ask for this, I really hope that you’ll only exact your revenge after Jenna’s given birth… Also, there’s one final thing. I… Didn’t really touch you that night… I had only lied since I was really upset…” interrupted Keith.
…They… They hadn’t actually had sex…?! As astonishment, gratefulness, and joy swirled within her, Xavia eventually managed to say, “…T-thank you so much, Keith… They say life is bland, but you… You bring color to it… Your kindness… it brings beauty to the world…”
Though any hillbilly male would’ve disliked being described as ‘beautiful,’ Keith didn’t mind at all. In fact, he simply replied, “I’m just glad there aren’t any misunderstandings anymore… The last thing I’d want is for you to hate me…”
