There wasn’t much space between them, and Zivon held onto Xavia’s tiny hand the entire time… Eventually, he was prompted to say, “Why don’t we head to the hospital to meet up with Yulia first?”
Nodding in response, Xavia replied, “Yeah… Since she’s now up, it’s best to give her more company… With that said, I’m planning on sleeping with Yulia in the hospital tonight. You can head back to get some rest yourself, Young Master Burton…”
Sensing how distant her voice was, Zivon couldn’t help but raise a slight brow as he asked, “…Are you angry? Just so you know, I told President Harrison what kind of girl I liked before this, and she didn’t believe me in the end. Because of that, she requested that I brought you along on her birthday.”
“Since you two would be meeting a lot in the future anyway, I saw no harm in the idea. Besides, since I already have you now, I figured it’d be better if I attended her birthday dinner with you. It’d certainly be better than just attending with her in private.”
Zivon’s statement made Xavia purse her lips. Wasn’t he implying that he and Sophia would meet much more in the future? That aside, while it was thoughtful of him to consider her feelings regarding eating in private with Sophia, it still meant that he had done the same thing a lot in the past.
Xavia couldn’t really explain why, but whenever she thought about how fitting Zivon and Sophia looked together, she could feel a burning sensation in her heart… His affection toward her was just… different. It didn’t help that Sophia knew him so well.
In the end, Xavia replied, “…I’m fine. I’m not angry. I enjoyed the food there… That aside, I’m fine with you eating out with her without me. After all, you’re just business partners, and I can understand that…”
Though Xavia had the perfect façade on, Zivon could still tell that there was something wrong. Gently grabbing her by her cheeks, Zivon then said, “Are you messing around with me…?”
