“I’ve already said that I wasn’t the one who killed her! Don’t go throwing false accusations as you please!”
Snorting in response, Xavia replied, “Like I’d ever believe that. You may have been able to trick the others, but I’m no fool, Jenna. After all that’s happened, do you seriously expect me to believe that you and Keith could ever have a proper relationship? Let alone one that involved actual love?”
Going pale upon hearing that, Jenna gritted her teeth as she retorted, “You…! Listen here, Xavia! Don’t you already have the advantage here…?! Hasn’t that been the case ever since the divorce was announced?! Besides, you talk about love when you actively attempted to steal the title of Mrs. Burton from me? Don’t make me laugh!”
“Regardless, this is the last time I’m repeating myself. Stop accusing me of your grandmother’s death, and I’ll leave you alone. Continue, however, and I’ll expose everything about you and Zivon! If I’m going down, we’re going down together…!” declared Jenna before turning to leave…
In response, all Xavia did was smirk. Though that declaration sounded certain, there wouldn’t be a need for Jenna to threaten her with Zivon if that woman was truly confident… Alas, just as Jenna had said, Xavia had no further evidence against her right now…
As Xavia aimlessly walked on the streets, wondering what she should do next, she snapped out of it when she suddenly heard the honk of a car. Turning around, she was greeted by the sight of a luxurious Maybach… and sitting inside, was the familiar prestigious man… Somehow, not seeing him for a few days was enough to make him look even grander than usual…
Shaking the thoughts off, Xavia was prompted to ask, “…Young Master Burton…? What are you doing here…?”
Upon hearing that, Zivon’s eyes went slightly dark. He, for one, had been surprised when he heard from Zayne that Xavia had returned to Darlsbury. After all, he had given her three days, yet she was home so quickly. Alas, it was clear that she hadn’t returned because of him since instead of returning to his side, she had prioritized going to the Lockhart Mansion.
Though he had been irked by this, now that the helpless-looking woman was standing before him, he simply couldn’t bring himself to continue feeling angry. In the end, he simply got out and said, “Get in first…”
