Year Five: The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 106

Yvette ended the call.

Silvia sat on her bed, clutching her phone. Her slender fingers tightened slowly around it.

This sort of thing—there was no rush now.

But what about later?

With a family as large and influential as hers, the elders would surely expect her to settle down and have children eventually.

Silvia scolded herself for overthinking. She shook her head, doing her best to push the thought aside.

The next morning, she woke up early and happened to catch Kent as he was about to leave. He stood at the door, slipping on his shoes. When he saw Silvia, a faint smile curved his lips.

“Up so early, Silvia?” he said, his voice warm. “Let me give you a ride today.”

Kent knew she was headed to work at The Ashford Group.

She shook her head. “Our routes aren’t the same. I’ll be fine.”

Silvia still didn’t want to trouble Kent any more than necessary.

Seeing her resolve, Kent didn’t press. He simply nodded, his tone gentle. “Alright. Stay safe, and call me if you need anything.”

With that, he headed out.

After Kent left, Silvia had breakfast, then made her own way to The Ashford Group.

By coincidence, as she arrived downstairs, she ran into Finn.

As soon as he spotted her, Finn arched an eyebrow and waved her over, beckoning her closer.

He leaned in, lowering his voice conspiratorially. “Silvia, this afternoon, get your things ready. You’re coming with me to meet a client.”

“What client?” Silvia asked, curious. “Is it for that Luminova City and Capital City partnership you mentioned?”

“That’s right.”
