When My Ex's Worst Enemy Became My Sanctuary novel Chapter 336

The show was meant to be slow and easygoing, so once Dorothea got past those first couple of tense hours, everything started to feel normal again. Carmen kept checking in on her, sending message after message, asking how she was doing, if there was anything they could tweak, always trying to calm her nerves.

After a while, Dorothea barely noticed the cameras anymore. It just felt like another ordinary day.

At lunchtime, she managed to turn the kitchen into a disaster zone again. The viewers absolutely loved it. Watching her fumble around and make a mess had become everyone’s favorite part of the stream. Out of all four live feeds, hers had more people watching than the other three combined.

[Dorothea, you’re about to go viral!]

She was still half-asleep when she saw Carmen’s message. She’d just woken up from a nap and there was this nagging ache pulsing through the right side of her face.

She shuffled over to the bathroom mirror and saw that her cheek looked a little red and puffy. When she opened her mouth to check, she spotted two wisdom teeth trying to push their way in.

Dorothea pressed her hand to her cheek and walked into the living room, frowning.

Linda spotted her right away. “Dorothea, are you okay? Is it your tooth?”

Dorothea nodded. “I think my wisdom teeth are coming in.”

She flopped onto the sofa, looking completely wiped out. The pain was sharp and deep, radiating from her jaw and making her whole head throb. She couldn’t concentrate on anything.

Linda started to worry. “Oh no. What are we supposed to do? You’re pregnant, so you can’t take any painkillers, and you can’t get them pulled until after the baby comes.”

She hurried to look up a home remedy and came back with a few slices of ginger. “I read online that biting down on ginger can help. Want to give it a try?”

Dorothea couldn’t stand ginger, but her tooth hurt so much she was willing to try anything. She took a slice, pinched it between her fingers, and hesitantly put it in her mouth.

She sat there, chewing on it for half an hour. Nothing helped. The pain was just as bad as before.
