Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 645

“Yes, really.”

Julian met Madeline’s eyes, promising himself that he would do whatever it took to heal her vision.

Madeline had spent an entire day and night steeling herself for the worst. This outcome was better than she’d hoped for. A small smile tugged at her lips. “Alright. I’ll take care of myself.”

Julian studied her, something shifting inside him at the sight of her delicate smile.

“I brought you some soup. The doctor said you should stick to something light for now. Want some?”

“Okay.” Madeline nodded. “Do you know how Luke is?”

“I’m not sure yet. Casey got him to the hospital. If you want, I’ll have someone check on him later.” Julian picked up the container and started to feed her.

Madeline let out a sigh. She couldn’t see, but she just knew things must have been bad for Luke.

“Careful, it’s still hot,” Julian said, lifting the spoon to her lips.

Madeline reached for the spoon. “I could try doing it myself. I think I can manage.”

Julian didn’t let go. He kept feeding her, one gentle spoonful at a time. “Let me do it.”

Hearing Julian’s rough, quiet voice, Madeline felt like he was even more down than she was.

She finished the soup and felt a bit stronger. She pushed back the covers, ready to move.

Julian caught her hand. “Where are you going?”

His worried tone caught her off guard. She answered softly, “I just need to use the bathroom.”

“I’ll carry you.”

“What? I can walk there, really.”

Before she could protest, Julian scooped her up, holding her close. “Don’t push yourself until your eyes are better. If you fell… it wouldn’t be worth it, would it?”
