Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 618

“So fast.” Madeline took the necklace from Oliver. The chain was still hers, but now the pendant had been swapped out with a tiny camera hidden inside. To anyone else, it looked just like any normal necklace.

“Mom, look at this.” Oliver pulled up his laptop. The video from the camera inside the pendant popped up on the screen, clear as day.

Madeline watched, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Thank you, sweetheart. You’ve really helped me out.”

Oliver grinned, practically glowing with pride. “You’re welcome, Mommy.”

Madeline fastened the necklace around her neck. She was determined to save Luke, and she wasn’t going to give up on Claire, either.

Julian stuck around the house all day. He refused to let Madeline leave, so he didn’t leave either, keeping a close eye on her every move.

He’d sent people out to look for Claire, but not a word came back.

She’d texted Claire the night before, asking for her address, but Claire hadn’t replied. She was being careful.

As the day dragged on with zero news, Madeline grew more and more restless. She started pacing the living room, glancing at her phone every couple of minutes.

By the end of the day, she could barely stand it. The next morning crept in; it’s Luke’s last day.

That afternoon, Madeline’s nerves were completely shot. Christian called Julian about something urgent, and Julian finally had to leave the house. But before he left, he told Miles to keep a close watch on Madeline.

Madeline knew this was her moment. She shot a sideways look at Miles, who immediately seemed flustered.

Caught in her gaze, Miles turned a little pink. “Ms. Monroe, is there… is there something you need?”
