Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 309

The men inside the cage shot each other a look, then smirked like they were in on some dark joke. “Trust me. You don’t want to mess with this person.”

Julian sat down, calm and collected. He flicked his cigarette, not even bothering to look impressed. “So, who is it?”

One of the men squared his shoulders, fearless. “We’re not snitches. Kill us, torture us, whatever. But we’re not talking.”

Julian just raised his hand. Miles nodded and, in no time, a few of the Grayson family’s bodyguards marched in, each holding some seriously nasty-looking torture tools.

Sometimes, death isn’t the scariest thing. Living through something worse can make you wish you were dead. The second those sharp, gleaming instruments came into view, the men’s bravado cracked. For a moment, you could see the fear in their eyes. They knew those tools could make them regret ever being born.

Miles stepped forward and gave them a warning. “Better start talking now. If you wait, you’ll just end up suffering and spill everything anyway.”

The men clenched their jaws, still trying to act tough. “Go ahead. I’ve been in this business for years. You think this scares me? You’ll never get a word out of me.”

Julian’s lips curled into a cold, razor-sharp smile. He gestured again.

The room exploded with screams, raw and desperate.

Julian glanced over his shoulder at the girl standing quietly behind him. She watched everything, face unreadable, not even blinking. Anyone else would have cried or looked away at something so bloody. Not her. She just stood there, cool as ice, like she’d seen it all before.

Julian narrowed his eyes, watching her. Was she like this because she hated them so much, or was she just numb after five years with that lunatic Casey?

After more than ten minutes of whipping, the men were barely conscious. A bucket of cold water woke them up, and their groans filled the air. Sweat and blood dripped onto the floor.
