Lucas was startled.
"It's a company proposal," he said instinctively, "but it's useless now."
Isabella glanced at it, a gentle smile playing on her lips.
"I took a few elective courses in jewelry design in college. If the new company needs a director, perhaps I could give it a try."
"I... I don't think that's a good idea."
Lucas glanced back at the closed office door, hesitant. Like Linton, he believed it was only a matter of time before Liliana came back to the Cooper Group after she was done throwing her tantrum. When she found out that Isabella had taken over the jewelry company Linton had originally intended for her, the girl would surely throw another fit.
Isabella's smile remained, but her tone grew colder.
"Lucas, you know who I am. Or... should I go speak to Linton about this myself?"
"Ah... no, that won't be necessary." Lucas quickly waved his hands.
"Mr. Cooper has already moved on from this company and is planning a new one. If you're interested, Miss Rowe, then it's yours."
After much hesitation, Lucas handed the proposal to Isabella.
He figured that if Isabella really went to Linton and asked for it, he would give it to her in the end. It was better to avoid the hassle. He might as well just give it to her now.
Isabella smiled and thanked him. She casually flipped through the proposal, then asked as if it were an afterthought,
"By the way, Lucas, who was Linton originally planning to give this company to?"
