The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 932

"Next, let's focus on the sensor error correction plan. Lorie, any new progress on your algorithm model?" Danielle asked, lifting her gaze to Lorie's window on the screen.

Lorie, framed by the floor-to-ceiling window of a hotel room with glittering city lights behind her, was sitting on a sofa. Just as she was about to speak, a familiar figure flashed across the corner of the screen—Alexander, dressed in loungewear and holding a glass of water, walked past the camera as naturally as if he were in his own home.

Danielle's hand, resting on the mouse, froze. Her heart felt like it had been squeezed by an invisible hand, a suffocating ache spreading through her chest. She took a deep breath, forcing her gaze away and tapping her fingers lightly on the desk. Her voice was steady, betraying no emotion. "Lorie? You can begin."

Lorie, seemingly oblivious, nodded with a smile. "The initial iteration of the error correction model is complete. I’ve uploaded the data to the shared document. The test error is controlled within 0.3%, which meets the expected standard."

As she spoke eloquently, Alexander appeared in the frame again. He leaned down and whispered something to Lorie. The microphone filtered out his voice, but Lorie’s tender smile as she looked up at him was perfectly clear.

Danielle lowered her eyes, staring at the dense data in the document, forcing herself to concentrate on work. They were engaged; living together was perfectly normal. She had no right and no standing to be upset.

The meeting continued until the end, when Lorie suddenly stopped her. "Chief Engineer Crawford, wait a moment."

"What is it?" Danielle asked.

"I’ve just arrived in Nexus Prime and don’t know the area well. I'm looking to find a place to live near the Aerospace Institute to make work more convenient," Lorie explained. "Since you've been in Nexus Prime for so long, could you recommend a few good neighborhoods?"

The next morning, Danielle arrived at the Aerospace Institute half an hour early. As she approached the gate, she saw a familiar black sedan parked by the curb. The door opened and Lorie, dressed in professional attire, stepped out. Alexander got out as well, reaching out to smooth her collar, which had been ruffled by the wind. "I'll pick you up tonight," he reminded her gently. "Remember to eat on time."

Lorie nodded with a smile and turned to walk into the institute, running right into Danielle. She froze for a second, then smiled. "Good morning, Chief Engineer Crawford."

"Morning," Danielle replied, her gaze moving past Lorie to Alexander, who stood a short distance away. He saw her too, his expression complex, but he only nodded without another word.

Danielle tore her gaze away and walked alongside Lorie through the gate. Behind them, the sedan slowly drove off, its engine fading into the morning light, but the piercing image was seared into her mind like a brand.
