The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 28

The man's expression remained indifferent, as if her emotions, her accusing gaze, simply didn't register.

She remembered all those weekends she'd begged him to spend time with their son—take him to the park, go on little trips together. He always said he was too busy.

But now she understood. Aside from the times he paraded Raffy abroad for business or family events, he was spending every precious weekend jetting off to see Millie, living out their private little romance.

A wry, mocking smile crept into Danielle's eyes.

The more she learned, the more she realized that six years of love and loyalty meant less than nothing.

Curling her lips into a faint, bitter smile, Danielle said, "Well, I wish you both all the happiness in the world."

Alexander's gaze darkened. "Do you even know what you're saying?"

She met his eyes, holding his stare.

All she could see was that cold, unfeeling look in his eyes. He spoke slowly, each word hard and deliberate: "Millie isn't… the other woman."

Danielle laughed, almost in disbelief. "Is that so? Well, in that case, I'd appreciate it if you could just…" sign the divorce papers.

"Danielle!" Kirsten's voice broke the tension, calling from behind, "I've been looking everywhere for you."

Kirsten strode over, glanced at Millie and Alexander, and snorted with a sneer, "What's there to talk about with these two? Let's go."

Millie paused, then said lightly, "Davidson, your wife really has the wrong idea about us."

She glanced at Danielle, feigning innocence. "I've barely done anything since I got back, and yet she's already got it out for me. Maybe we should just avoid each other, so your marriage doesn't lose its… spark. Hahaha."

"No need." Alexander watched Danielle's retreating figure, his voice cold and sure. "That won't happen with her."

Kirsten muttered curses under her breath the whole way back, practically fuming.

Danielle smiled faintly. "It's just a divorce. Let them do whatever they want."

Back in the lounge, Gian offered Danielle a calm analysis: "If Millie's your competition, you need to study her seriously. She's not all show—she's got some talent from her years abroad."
