The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 278

They needed to find out exactly what had caused the brakes to fail.

Gian’s heart was still pounding wildly in his chest.

His face was tense. “That scared the hell out of me.”

After watching those harrowing moments unfold, his mind had gone completely blank.

One thing was clear, though: Alexander was genuinely willing to risk his life for Millie.

Gian took a deep breath, trying to calm himself as he checked Danielle over, head to toe.

He didn’t see any obvious injuries.

“Let’s get you checked out at the hospital, just to be safe,” he said.

There could always be something they couldn’t see.

“I’m really fine,” Danielle replied. “Aside from the rush of adrenaline, I don’t feel any discomfort at all.”

She lowered her gaze to the drops of blood on the floor.

Judging by the looks of it, Alexander’s injury was serious.

He’d truly almost died saving Millie.

Danielle drew a shaky breath and looked away.

The car was towed to the dealership for a thorough inspection.

The police needed to reach out to Alexander for follow-up on the accident.

Even after she got home that night, Danielle couldn’t shake the lingering anxiety.

“Try not to dwell on it,” Gian said gently. “Maybe it was just a mechanical fault.”

“Yeah,” she murmured.

That was the only explanation she could accept.

When Kirsten heard about the accident, she immediately called Danielle, voice trembling with worry.

She only relaxed when she was sure Danielle was really alright.

Still, Danielle couldn’t help wondering how Alexander was doing.

After all, she’d walked away unscathed.

She thought about calling, but in the end, she just washed up and got ready for bed.

The next morning, the police called and asked her to come to the hospital to deal with the aftermath of the accident.
