The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 275

A mocking smile curled on Danielle’s lips as she slowly looked away.

She had nothing to gain with them—no matter how grandly they dressed up the idea of “collaboration,” none of it could ever be pinned on her.

She turned on her heel and strode toward her car, waiting for Gian to emerge.

Meanwhile, Millie filled Alexander in on everything that had happened.

She buried her face in her hands, took a deep breath, then swept her hair back and straightened up. “It’s fine. Just a minor hiccup—I can handle it.”

Alexander’s dark eyes rested on her for a few measured seconds before he finally spoke, his voice low and calm. “You don’t have to do it all yourself.”

“If you need help, just call me.”

Millie lowered her gaze.

She knew Alexander cared about her.

But—

“I can handle it.”

Even if it meant swallowing a loss of ten million, she’d handle it.

She had no intention of relying on a man to bail her out, and she knew Alexander wouldn’t be drawn to a woman who played the damsel in distress.

Danielle sat in her car, eyes glued to her phone, fully absorbed in monitoring data.

She paid no attention to the pair talking by the door, so much so that when someone knocked on her window, she jumped in surprise.

Quickly, Danielle tucked her phone away.

She turned to see a man outside, his face calm and unreadable, those dark eyes silently fixed on her through the glass.

Lowering her window, Danielle squinted up at him. “If you’re here to blame me for Millie’s business fiasco, don’t bother.”

“All I have to say is, she got exactly what she deserved.”

If you try to steal someone else’s project, you’d better be prepared to deal with the fallout.

He didn’t respond, just stared at her with those fathomless, black eyes—eyes Danielle had never been able to read, and probably never would.

When he still didn’t say anything, Danielle arched an eyebrow. “Well?”

He let the corner of his mouth lift ever-so-slightly, his voice smooth and quiet. “You’re certainly in a mood. What did she do this time?”
