The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 270

“It’s just that the Verdphoenix X7 is a classified project. If the engineer’s identity is leaked, it could be dangerous.”

Looking across the Blackwood Research Institute, there was no doubt—Gian was the best talent they had.

And now he’d founded Ninesky, which was quickly gaining momentum.

Millie found herself thinking the same thing.

If that was really the case…

Gian was absolutely someone they needed to win over.

Danielle and the others stayed in the workshop late that night.

It wasn’t until Kirsten finally tracked down Cloudpath and came looking for Danielle that she realized how late it had become.

Kirsten’s expression was icy and grave.

“What’s wrong?” Danielle asked, instantly feeling a pang of unease at the look on Kirsten’s face.

“I went to the preschool to pick up Niki. The teacher told me Niki got hurt this afternoon, and her dad took her home.”

Danielle’s heart skipped a beat, her pulse pounding in her ears.

She immediately reached for her phone.

There were several missed calls—all from the teacher.

She hadn’t answered.

Since she hadn’t picked up, the teacher had called Alexander instead.

Among the missed calls, there was one from Alexander as well.

Without hesitation, Danielle dialed his number.

As soon as the call connected, Danielle walked quickly toward the exit, her voice tight with anxiety. “Where’s Niki? What happened to her?”

“Done with work?” Alexander’s voice was low and steady on the other end. “She’s fine. She’s at the apartment.”

Danielle quickened her pace. “I’m coming to get her now.”

“What’s the rush?” Alexander’s gaze dropped to the paperwork in his study. “She’s perfectly safe here. If you have things to do, just take care of them.”

Danielle didn’t believe a word of it.

She hung up, gave a few brief instructions about work, and immediately ordered a cab to the downtown apartment.
