The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 249

He’d clearly lived a life of privilege—every gesture, every glance, radiated effortless elegance and pride.

But when he shut the car door, the sound was anything but subtle, drawing quick looks from both Gian and Danielle.

Millie turned to them just then, her lips curling into a teasing smile. “Mr. Atwood and Miss Crawford seem awfully close—are you two secretly dating?”

Gian locked the car and slipped the keys into his pocket, his gaze softening with a smile as it landed on Millie. “You and Mr. Davidson aren’t exactly distant yourselves. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were Mrs. Davidson already.”

His words, though laced with politeness, carried a sharp edge. Gian was the sort who could slice you open with a smile on his face.

Millie’s grin faltered in an instant.

She quickly tried to laugh it off. “Oh, come on! Alex and I are just old friends, practically like siblings. Don’t go spreading rumors.”

She added, “We grew up together, always inseparable—nothing unusual there. Not like Mr. Atwood and Miss Crawford—”

Gian’s lips twitched. “Maybe you’re the one mistaken.”

He went on, voice smooth as silk, “Reminds me of a certain CEO I worked with once—always seeing scandal everywhere, probably because his own conscience was dirty. He loved to spread rumors; ended up in jail for it.”

Liam, brow furrowed, interrupted impatiently. “Enough with the nonsense. We all saw how sweet you two were being—what normal man and woman act that close?”

He shot Danielle a pointed look. “And let’s not forget, Miss Crawford is a married woman. Behaving like that in broad daylight, really?”

Danielle almost laughed out loud.

“A married woman? Since when?” Her gaze was cool and clear. “Go on then, tell me—who’s my husband?”

“You—”

Liam’s face turned an ugly shade of red. For a moment, he seemed lost for words.

It was obvious Alexander didn’t want anyone to know about their relationship; Liam had only ended up embarrassing himself.

After a long, awkward pause, Liam finally muttered, “How should I know who your husband is?”

Danielle gave a derisive snort.
