The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 211

Grabbing Niki’s hand, Danielle swept out of the room without another word.

Millie, for the first time in ages, found herself utterly speechless, so furious she could practically see red.

Alex raised an eyebrow. “Huh. Never realized she had such a sharp tongue.”

Alexander, cool as ever, flicked his cigarette into the ashtray with deliberate calm. His voice was unreadable. “Why bother provoking her? Haven’t you known her long enough to expect this?”

Millie had to admit he had a point.

Danielle could argue the sky wasn’t blue if she felt like it, and now that she believed herself important—thanks to Gian’s obvious favoritism—she clearly thought she had a real say in Ninesky’s business.

Millie realized she’d been caught off guard. Danielle’s reaction had stung, which only meant Millie had hit a nerve.

After all, Danielle’s not-yet-ex-husband had splashed out a fortune for her, only to ignore her completely. Anyone in her shoes would lose their cool.

The truth was simple: Alexander just didn’t love Danielle.

Danielle’s bitterness was inevitable, and Millie had ended up as her target.

Thinking it over, Millie’s lips curled in a satisfied little smile. “Happy people don’t hold grudges. I’ll let her have this one.”

When Danielle got home, she called Gian and filled him in.

There was a long pause on the other end.

Gian’s voice was thoughtful, dissecting the situation. “He’s throwing money around to build Millie’s credentials. Only a handful of people in the industry knew about this project, and right now, he’s pushing Millie into the team. You really want to let him get his way?”

Of course, Danielle knew the ins and outs.

“He wants an answer by tomorrow. Honestly, I think Cloudpath’s a solid partner. Besides, before I returned to Ninesky, you’d already worked with plenty of companies under Newsworld Group. There’s no reason to cut ties just because of our personal issues.”

Danielle always kept her priorities straight.

She was here to maximize gains. If Alexander wanted to buy Millie a place at the table and bring them benefits, they had no reason to refuse.

Gian frowned. “I get it. But do we really want Millie on the project team? I’d rather keep outsiders away from such a crucial project.”

Especially Danielle.
