The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 194

Danielle returned to the private dining room, her whole body cold with irritation.

"What's wrong? You went out for a fruit plate and came back with a storm cloud," Kirsten remarked, giving her a questioning look.

Danielle sat down with a sigh. "Ran into a walking disaster out there."

The moment those words left her mouth, everyone knew exactly who she'd crossed paths with.

Kirsten made a face and waved her hand as if warding off bad luck. "Ugh, talk about bad vibes. Here, have a drink—kill off the germs."

That night, the dinner gathering wrapped up early.

When Danielle got home, it was barely past nine.

She set her bag down, opened her laptop, and was ready to get back to work.

She was running two major projects: one collaborating with the city government, the other pushing the boundaries of scientific research.

But just as she powered on her computer, her phone rang.

The caller ID flashed: Alexander.

Danielle's expression didn't change. She reached for the phone and declined the call without hesitation.

But Alexander was nothing if not persistent. As soon as she hung up, his number popped up again.

Danielle's brow furrowed. Of all times…

She couldn't block him yet, either. The thirty-day mandatory cooling-off period wasn't over; after that, they'd need to meet at City Hall to finalize the divorce.

She picked up the phone and simply powered it off.

The next morning.

Danielle was up early, heading in to Ninesky for work.

She had to go out on site today for some technical maintenance.

Her projects were progressing smoothly, and Mr. Hawthorne was keeping a close eye on things, dropping by every so often to check on the status.

Lately, Danielle had thrown herself into her work, letting it consume her attention.

She and Gian had just finished a maintenance job at another company when Gian's phone started ringing.

He stopped in his tracks, glancing at the caller ID, his brow tightening.

"Who is it? You look like you've just swallowed a lemon."

"Keegan."
