The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 119

Just then—

Millie hurried after her, clutching a steaming mug of tea, and blocked her path.

"I saw you standing here for ages. Is there something you need from Alex?"

"Have some tea. You don't want to get heatstroke."

Danielle glanced down at the mug, still sending up curling wisps of steam. She couldn't help but wonder just how hot it was.

Was Millie genuinely offering her tea—or hoping to scald her?

Danielle gave her a cold, flat stare. "We're not that close. You don't have to rush up and greet me every time we meet."

It was honestly nauseating.

She turned on her heel to leave.

Millie called after her, "You haven't been home, so I've been looking after Raffy lately. He says he misses you a lot. He keeps asking for that shrimp dish you used to make. Would you mind teaching me how to cook it?"

Danielle stopped in her tracks.

She understood what Millie was really saying—just another way to remind her that she was now the one coming in and out of the marital home.

Of course Danielle knew. The passcode had been changed, the wedding photos removed from the master bedroom, even the bed had been replaced—every trace of her was being erased.

"Could you show me?" Millie continued, undeterred by Danielle's silence. "After all, Raffy had that allergy last time and it still makes me nervous."

"I realize there's a lot I don't know about Raffy. I'd really appreciate your advice. You can come by the house anytime. You're always welcome."

Always welcome? Danielle's lips curled in a bitter smirk.

She made it sound as though the house still belonged to Danielle and Alexander.

"You've spent so much time with Raffy, you must care about him. You can't just abandon your own child, can you?"

Danielle gave a soft laugh.

So this was Millie's attempt at emotional blackmail?

Too bad—it wasn't going to work.

Her voice was cool as she replied, "If you'd really seen Raffy as your son, you wouldn't have left him behind to chase your precious career after he was born. Now you've come back to win him over, just to prepare for your grand debut as Mrs. Davidson, isn't that right?"

Millie's expression darkened.

Her words stung—sharp and merciless.
