The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 505

Chapter 505: Parents and Pride

It was a whole different problem, alright.

It just wasn’t as obvious, at least not yet, because they had managed to separate for a good while after the match.

The bout had ended when the military technicians finally stepped in, alarms still echoing faintly in the background.

But what truly surprised Princess Kira wasn’t that she’d won or how Luca put everyone in place with just one move.

It was how easy it was to get her father to agree to at least listen.

Yes—just listen.

Of course, she wanted more than that.

She had hoped he would actually agree to her staying. And truthfully, she could have forced the issue, given that she’d clearly won their match.

But she didn’t want to put that kind of strain on their relationship.

She didn’t want her father’s acceptance to come from defeat, but from understanding. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

All she really wanted was for him to hear her out. To give her a fair chance to explain her plans, her goals, and her reasons.

She knew that this was going to be difficult, but even then she wanted to try. So, when her father said yes, she was actually surprised.

He even agreed to travel to another planet to see something after signing a non-disclosure agreement that Kyle had prepared in advance.

However, one prince and his adjutant weren’t as surprised because with that amount of spiritual pressure, even the Emperor would likely end up signing. And the fact that they weren’t met with any objections when faced with the NDA was a confirmation of Xavier’s guess.

And they were right in a way. However, King Garick’s motives were more pressing as he was rushing to get out of there before collapsing. If he was going to end up in a wreck, he wasn’t about to do so in a room filled with humans.

So, he compromised and used this travel as a chance to recuperate. And that was how they found themselves traveling separately to visit a planet that the Orc King never thought he’d be interested in.

Planet Kyros.

That one, which appeared gold, green, and blue, looked like a rather fine planet if not for a few questionable things, like the unsettling number of statues that seemed to stare at their souls.

And when some of those eyes shone, he couldn’t help but feel his gut churning.

"Y-your Majesty, is this alright?" asked the old aide who unconsciously gulped at the varying statues of that monster cadet who had their King bedridden up until recently.

He’s everywhere!

Did they end up in a cult? And did their princess fall into this trap?!

Oh, but if only, for the poor aide was about to learn that their King wasn’t as unusual as they thought. Apparently, when it comes to showing off their child, there was another who could rival their king in his insanity.

Duke Leander Kyros.

The man who welcomed them into the Dukedom, and whose estate they were going to visit today.

When the gates of the Kyros estate slowly swung open, the King’s party thought it was just the wind that made them shiver, because surely no sane man would orchestrate something like this?

Was this an actual threat? Was this the kind of intimidation tactic that the Orcs weren’t familiar with?

Because King Garick was pretty sure it was effective.

If earlier there were just statues, now there were even portraits, commemorative items, and even some of the pillars had etchings that were certainly related to that kid.

And one couldn’t help but think of his peaceful-looking face as some sort of a cursed rune that’s used to mark everything.

At one point, the king even worried he wouldn’t be able to sleep if the room provided would look anything like the major parts of the house.

Thankfully, it didn’t.

And only thanks to the Duchess, whose words still rang in his ears.

Initially, it had been the Duke and the Butler who waited on them. But when their party reached the end of the grand hall, they were surprised to see the Duchess instead.

Her introduction was short, but not impolite as she informed them that the Duke and the Butler were out with the cadets to prepare for their small banquet.

And as Garick took her in, he found himself thinking that the woman before him truly lived up to her name and reputation—every inch a warrior.
