The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 419

“Don't walk away! Can I buy you a drink?” Lyndon called out loudly, his voice dripping with mockery. “After all... you might never be able to afford a bottle this good again!”

The surrounding crowd erupted in laughter.

Clive clenched his fists, his fingernails digging deep into his palms as he glared at Lyndon. “Lyndon! Don't push it too far! Leave a bridge so we can cross it later.”

Lyndon let out a disdainful snort. “Save that advice for yourself. If you hadn't deliberately spread rumors and launched that smear campaign against me back then, I wouldn't be doing this now!”

In the past, Clive had tried to make Lyndon the scapegoat for his own scandals. Thanks to timely intervention by Lyndon's team and a lack of solid evidence from Clive, Lyndon hadn't suffered catastrophic damage.

However, Lyndon hadn't forgotten. Because of Clive's fabrications, his public image had taken a hit, and even now, confused bystanders would occasionally leave hateful comments based on those old lies. How could he not seek revenge?

Clive naturally didn't think his past actions were excessive. In his mind, Lyndon was simply using this opportunity to suppress him so that Lyndon could become the top idol of their generation.

Clive stared gloomily at his rival, his eyes like a venomous snake poised to strike. “Lyndon... you better pray I never make a comeback. Otherwise...”

Clive let the threat hang in his eyes. After delivering his final words, he lost the mood to stay any longer and turned to leave.

...

Meanwhile, evening had fallen, and it was dinner time at the Fulton household.

Judie set down her fork, indignant. “I remember clearly how arrogant he was to Leilani at the concert. He's probably desperate now and thinks he can beg for help. Too late! Dad, you didn't agree to see him, right?”

Libby walked out of the kitchen carrying a bowl of soup. Hearing the conversation, she frowned. “That Clive guy went to find you? You didn't let him in, did you?”

Donovan shook his head, looking innocently at his wife and daughter to prove his integrity. “I certainly didn't. I had the receptionist send him away.”

He wasn't joking. After what Clive had done to his daughter and Leilani, Donovan wasn't about to let the matter slide just because the boy came crying crocodile tears.

Libby placed the soup on the table, clearly satisfied with Donovan's judgment. “Good job, Donovan. People like him shouldn't be given the time of day. They never learn until they hit a wall.”
