With Talbot and his family away on vacation, Dante and Letty had been eagerly rubbing their hands together, planning to invite Leilani over to the estate for another grand reception. However, their plans were abruptly halted.
Callahan took off his coat and handed it naturally to the butler beside him, his tone calm. "She's on a business trip."
"A business trip?" Letty was surprised. "Where to?"
"Garrison City." Callahan walked over to the sofa and sat down. "She'll probably be there for about a week."
Letty and Dante exchanged a glance, both seeing the disappointment in the other's eyes.
"That child, why run so far away all of a sudden..." Letty sighed, but then a thought struck her, and her eyes lit up. "Why don't you go after her? There isn't much happening at the company lately anyway..."
If he followed her, the two of them could bond properly and take the next step sooner.
Callahan looked at his mother helplessly. "Mom, she's going for work, not for fun."
Although Callahan certainly wanted to chase after her to Garrison City and keep Leilani company, she was far too independent and wouldn't allow it.
Dante, however, was more open-minded and waved his hand dismissively. "Young people prioritize their careers; we must be understanding."
After all, he had gone through that stage himself and understood that Leilani's ambition would be strong at this point in her life. Moreover, Leilani's family background had inevitably shaped her character.
He paused, then looked at Callahan with meaningful intent. "However, you need to act fast, boy. Don't let her get away."
Dante knew perfectly well that Tilda hadn't given up on trying to play matchmaker for Leilani. Ever since Leilani's medical skills became famous, there were plenty of people in their social circle who wanted to bring her home as a granddaughter-in-law.
