The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 204

Callahan's narrow eyes were as cold as ice, his tone carrying a heavy warning.

Thinking of the consequences of provoking the man before him, Micah pursed his lips and reluctantly withdrew his hand.

Forget it. Better not to poke the bear. He couldn't touch Leilani for now, but he couldn't resist running his mouth.

Micah patted Callahan's shoulder teasingly, his smile completely insincere.

"It seems this Ms. Sloan is someone special to you. You're guarding her so closely, it's almost scary. After knowing you all these years, this is the first time I've seen you like this. But since I'm not welcome, I'll go."

He waved at Leilani, his fox-like eyes sparkling with a charming allure, "Ms. Sloan, see you next time."

Outside, he probably charmed countless naive heiresses with that look. Unfortunately, his wink was wasted on the blind here.

Leilani was no naive heiress. She rarely showed her emotions even in front of Callahan, let alone Micah, whom she had only met twice. She treated Micah's little tricks as if they didn't exist.

The auction had reached its intermission. Leilani told Callahan she was stepping out and went to the restroom.

When she came out of the restroom, she saw from a distance that Callahan had also left the box.

He was standing at the end of the corridor.
