“ISLA! Apollo is calling!” Becca shouted.
She heard it but she can’t go out yet because her body was full of soap foam. She’s taking a bath for goodness’ sake.
“Please, answer it!” she shouted back.
“What?!” Becca exclaimed which makes her laugh. She bit her lower lip.
She didn’t answer back and waited for Becca’s complaint again but she heard nothing. She turned on the shower and rinse herself.
After she was done, she grabbed the bathrobe and went out of the bathroom.
“Did you answer it?” she asked when she saw Becca sitting on her bed.
Becca arched her brow. “Why would I?”
She heaved a deep sigh and went closer to her. She grabbed the dress that was placed on her bed.
“Don’t you worry that punk will call you—” Becca didn’t finish her words when her phone rang.
She walked towards the wooden table and picked up her phone. “I was in the bathroom when you called,” it’s the first thing she said.
“How’s your first day at school?” he asked. She sighed in relief when Apollo doesn’t sound mad.
“All fine. We attended the orientation and have a tour at the university,” she uttered and looked at Becca, who was now smirking.
“Great. Behave, princess. Okay?”
“I will. Anyway, where’s mom? She did call me yesterday morning. She told me she’ll go home today,” I said and leaned at the edge of the table.
Isla heard Apollo sigh at the other line. “She can’t make it. She needs to attend another meeting in Tokyo and I also need to be there,” Apollo uttered.
Her eyes widened as she stared at Becca. The latter arched her brow and mouthed the word: what.
She bit her lower lip to prevent herself from smiling. “Why do you have to go there?” she asked, obviously throwing some fake drama.
Apollo sighed deeply again. “I need to. It will only take two days and we’ll be back after the meeting. It’s also about the presentation of my company so as our company that mom’s handling. I called to inform you about it. And I want you to behave. I’m not there and—”
“Don’t worry. I know how to take care of myself. Nothing to worry about. You can call me when you get there, okay?”
“Why do I feel like you’re happy that I’ll be gone far.”
She parted her lips and formed an ‘O’ in her lips. “What’s wrong with my answers? Don’t be such a paranoid, Apollo. We can have facetime if you want to see me,” she said and walked her way towards her bed and sat beside Becca.
Becca crossed her arms and grinned.
“Just behave, Princess Isla—” Becca snatched her phone which surprised her.
“Your sister is not a kid anymore, Apollo,” Becca asserted.
Apollo on the other line frowned. “I’m not talking to—”
“I’m telling you, jerk. Don’t strangle your sister. Don’t worry, I will look for her—” Becca didn’t finish her words when Apollo cut it.
“I’m not asking for help from you. And what do you mean by strangling? Excuse me, Foster, even if you look for her, I still don’t trust you. Remember, you’re the one who’s influencing my sister—” Becca ended the call and hand the phone back to Isla.
“Your brother is so, so stupid!” she exclaimed, pissed.
“I will text him. Don’t worry,” Becca uttered which makes her feel confused a little bit.
“What will you gonna tell him?”
Becca formed a sly smirk on her lips. “Just leave it to me,” she replied.
WHEN they reached Zero’s car, she opened the door in the passenger seat. “You’re like flash, huh?” she uttered.
Becca at the back was the one who replied. “That’s one of the abilities of a monster,” she said and laughed.
Zero looked at his cousin from the rearview mirror and glared.
“Come on, old Zero. You’re indeed a monster. A demon monster—”
“You won’t shut your mouth?” Zero asked, his voice was too deep and a little bit scary.
Becca then broke their gaze and looked outside the car window.
Isla just shook her head. The two have the same behavior—
“Why are you smiling?”
She frowned and looked at him. “Huh?” she asked.
She saw how Zero’s jaw clenched as he started the car engine and sped off from the parking lot of the building.
Did she do something wrong?
