The Officer's Runaway Wife and Secret Son novel Chapter 333

Simon rolled his eyes and flipped the phone's camera.

The screen wobbled, then focused on a corner of the carpet. Felix was lying there, and next to him sat a man in a black T-shirt.

Rhys was holding the instruction manual, his head bowed in concentration as he helped Felix find a piece.

Noticing the camera, Rhys looked up.

Their eyes met through the screen.

His hand went slack, and the handful of pieces he was holding clattered back into the box.

"Why is he in our house?" Clara's voice turned cold.

Simon switched the camera back to himself. "It's not my fault. After school today, Felix insisted on waiting by the gate for him, said he wanted to make sure those bullies weren't bothering anyone again. After that, Felix claimed he couldn't get a piece to fit and absolutely had to bring him home."

"I tried to get him to leave, but he wouldn't go," Simon shrugged, muttering under his breath, "This guy's a bit weird. I told him you weren't home, and he said that was perfect, he'd help watch the kid."

Clara gritted her teeth. "Tell him to get out."

"If I had the power to make him leave, do you think he'd still be sitting here?" Simon said helplessly. "He said he'll go as soon as Felix finishes this part. And…"

"He brought Felix a new toy set. And cat food for Orange. He even won over Eloise, who asked me if we should invite Mr. Huntington to stay for dinner."

"…"

So he was taking advantage of her absence, starting with her son and the people around her?

Clara asked, "Where are my parents?"

Simon replied, "Felix was the one who brought him in, so they didn't feel right about kicking him out. Dad was worried about Mom's blood pressure, so he took her out for their evening walk."

"Put him on the phone."

Simon handed the phone over.

"Where are you?" That was the first thing Rhys said when Clara's face appeared on the screen.

The background clearly wasn't anywhere in Heron Bay.

"None of your business," Clara said, her face grim. "Rhys, I warned you to stay away from Felix."
