The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1781

The wedding kept going until seven that evening. Both families’ elders helped organize everything, making sure all the guests were sent off properly. The newlyweds slipped away first, heading back to their new villa.

The Blair family had set up the house just for them. It was as spacious as Imperial Heights, maybe even more, and every detail glowed with warmth and celebration.

“Welcome home,” the maids called out, already waiting at the door.

Anthony nodded and squeezed Charlotte’s hand, his voice gentle as he looked down at her. “Are you tired?”

“I’m fine,” Charlotte answered. She wore a gorgeous red cheongsam, her hair styled in a neat bun with a bright azalea tucked in. There was a simplicity to her look, but she still seemed impossibly elegant.

“It’s still early. How about we try something fun?” Kenneth suggested, and the rest of their friends—Donald, Roger, Shirley, and Stella—followed them inside. They’d missed their chance to mess with Anthony during the day, and now they were clearly out for payback tonight.

Anthony caught onto Kenneth’s plan and just quirked a smile, his voice low. “What did you have in mind?”

Kenneth clapped his hands and a maid whisked over a table already set up with a deck of cards. “Everyone knows how to play, right?”

With this many people up against Anthony, it felt like a sure win.

Charlotte barely glanced at the setup, looking instantly bored. “I’ll pass.”

“Not interested?” Anthony tilted his head, watching her with a soft smile. “Should we just go rest then?”

The heat in Anthony’s eyes made Charlotte’s heart give a little jolt. She’d spent the whole day flirting with him and she knew she’d set something off.

“Actually, I’m not tired anymore,” she said, popping right up and heading to the table. She sat down, leaned her chin on one hand, casually picked up a card, and shot them a grin. “Alright. Who’s in?”

Seeing her so flustered made Anthony’s smile turn a little wicked, his gaze lingering on her. He didn’t seem in any rush. There was plenty of time tonight.

“I’ll play!” Kenneth said right away. He looked at Lottie a bit nervously, thinking, No way she can beat all three of us. “Donald, Roger, you’re up too.”
