The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1491

Kenneth could hardly believe it when Emily kissed him first. His heart practically skipped a beat. There was no way he was letting this chance go to waste.

“That’s it? I don’t think that’s enough to really make it up to me,” he teased, slipping his left hand around her waist and gently pulling her closer.

Emily tensed for a second, caught off guard. Before she could react, Kenneth’s face was suddenly just inches from hers.

His lips found hers, warm and a little urgent. He didn’t want to push his luck, but after savoring that sweetness, he slowly trailed lower.

“Now, this feels like a real apology,” he murmured, and when his mouth brushed her neck, Emily gasped. The light sting sent her senses spinning.

Back in the car, Pam glanced over and her eyes immediately zeroed in on the new red mark on Emily’s neck.

“So… what exactly have you two been up to?” she asked, raising her eyebrows.

Emily’s cheeks turned bright red. She glanced down, finding it impossible to hide her silly grin. Her heart felt like it was floating.

None of them noticed the black sedan quietly following behind. The driver kept their gaze fixed on Emily’s car, wearing a black hat and mask that mostly hid their face. Pale, slender hands gripped the steering wheel, knuckles white, veins standing out. Their eyes burned with something close to hatred every time the car ahead hit a stoplight.

Kenneth's little accident didn’t stay a secret for long. Soon enough, Samantha and Kevin rushed over to the villa.

“Mom? Dad? What are you doing here?” Kenneth’s surprise was obvious when he saw his parents step inside. “Did Lottie call you or something?”

Samantha just shot him a look. “You have a whole army of staff. You think we’d only hear about this if Charlotte told us?”

She started scanning the room, like she was searching for something.
