The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1432

Kenneth’s face was so handsome, Emily’s heart couldn’t help but beat faster.

Alright, just shoot the scene. Acting was acting, no matter who her partner was. If it got awkward, she could just imagine Kenneth was a head of lettuce. Problem solved.

Once she’d made up her mind, Emily clenched her fists, lifted her chin, and let a fierce determination fill her eyes. She slipped effortlessly into the role, all in under three seconds.

“Jay…” she whispered.

Soft, romantic music played. Emily gently flicked her sleeve and let herself sink onto Kenneth’s lap. Her arms snaked around his neck as she leaned in, bringing their faces so close together.

In that moment, he caught a gentle gardenia scent coming from her, and it hit him like a shockwave, testing every bit of his self-control.

His entire body tensed. Afraid she might slip, Kenneth automatically slipped his arms around her waist.

“Your Highness, wherever you are, that’s where I’ll be,” he said, gazing up at her with those dark, magnetic eyes. His voice was deep and rough, but there was something dangerous about the way he said, “This life, my body belongs to you. When I die, my soul’s yours, too.”

The words sent shivers down Emily’s spine. Her fingertips brushed over his heart, her lashes quivering. “From today on,” she said softly, “this heart is mine.”

“My whole self is yours.” Kenneth took her hand in his, his face lowering to hers. His voice dropped to a mesmerizing whisper. “Everything. My heart, my body. They’re yours if you want them.”

His face was getting closer and closer. Emily’s heart thudded wildly. If she remembered right, this scene had a kiss... and not just any kiss, but one the female lead started. And it was supposed to be pretty intense, too.

“I want them!” she blurted. Her long lashes trembled like butterfly wings, and her eyes shimmered as she stared at him. “Your eyes, your nose, your lips… I love them all.”

But why can’t you love me back?

Even though Kenneth knew it was all part of the script, his heart thudded faster and he found himself holding his breath.

“It’s all yours,” he murmured, closing the gap between them until there was barely any space left.

Just a tiny tilt of his head, and their lips would meet.
