The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 435

Not being able to take the first shot didn’t mean they were going to let Parrish try again. As Franco’s men aimed their guns at Parrish’s group, Franco just started walking right over, taking long, confident strides. He didn’t seem to care that Parrish had just shot at him. Or maybe it was just that every ounce of him was locked in on Petty.

The bodyguard closest to Franco had started working with him around the same time Jay did. He knew exactly what Petty meant to the boss. Watching Franco move without a single glance back, the bodyguard felt a chill roll up his spine. He didn’t hesitate though. He gripped his weapon tighter and followed.

Parrish’s eyes flickered with something dark.

Deeper in the woods, Laura coughed up blood, tasting iron. The explosion had thrown her hard against the cliff, slamming her straight into the rocks. She could feel something wrong inside her, hot and sharp, but she had no idea if she’d make it out alive.

Trying to steady her breath, she waved Abbot closer. “I’ll give you the password, but you have to come clean with me. Are you holding back anything else?”

Abbot just stared, eyes empty, watching the blood spill from her mouth. “I’ve wired the whole mountain range with explosives.”

Laura’s eyes darted sideways. She wasn’t surprised, not really. On the surface, Abbot looked harmless, someone no one would suspect of being the most dangerous man on the border. But after nearly two years dealing with him, she'd seen all his disguises—he could play dumb all he wanted, but the ruthlessness always came through sooner or later.

So this was it. He wanted to blow Franco off the map.

A wild little laugh escaped her and she looked up, eyes alight with something feverish. “Perfect. That way, I get to die with him.”

“Password. Now,” Abbot said, cool and unbothered. Laura was obviously obsessed with Franco, lost all perspective a long time ago.
