She put on her own clothes and neatly folded Joseph’s, draping them over the back of the nearby sofa. A dull ache throbbed in her lower abdomen, and her waist felt sore. She wanted to lie down on the bed but was afraid of staining the sheets. In the end, she curled up on the sofa, wrapped tightly in her coat.
Meanwhile, Joseph, who had gone out for supplies, was facing his own dilemma.
The aisle with feminine hygiene products in the convenience store was a dizzying array of brands and types: mini, regular, overnight, extra-long overnight, even period underwear. And within those categories, there were options like 'dry,' 'soft,' 'cotton,' and even 'liquid'…
Joseph stared in bewilderment. “Liquid pads? How does that even work?”
The concept was utterly foreign to him. After a moment of hesitation, he decided to just grab one of every kind. The small shopping basket in his hand was soon overflowing.
When he went to the front counter to pay, the cashier happened to be a man, who eyed the basket full of pads with a strange look, as if Joseph were some kind of pervert.
“Hey…”
Before the cashier could finish, Joseph shot back with a cold expression, “What are you looking at? Don’t you have a wife?”
The cashier was speechless. He had been about to point out that Joseph had grabbed a lot of duplicates and didn't need to buy so much. But since he’d been shut down so abruptly, he clamped his mouth shut and quickly scanned the items.
With a large bag of pads in hand, Joseph strode home with purpose. When he pushed open the bedroom door, Vivica, who was lying on the sofa, startled and sat up.
Joseph looked at her, confused as to why she was on the sofa. Seeing her pale face, he immediately understood. “What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”
“Yeah,” Vivica said, forcing herself to sit up straight. “Just some cramps. It’s not serious, I’m fine.”
