The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 260

"Oh, come on. It's not like you had an affair. You've done nothing wrong, so what are you afraid of?"

Vivica fell silent, lost in thought.

Quintina checked her phone. "It's eight. I should get going before Mr. Baird comes up here to personally kick me out."

Vivica walked her downstairs.

As they descended, Quintina leaned in and whispered, "Is Mr. Baird staying the night?"

Vivica froze for a second, the thought hitting her again. He had said he was staying over. Her brow furrowed.

Quintina saw her expression and knew the answer. "Good for you," she said with a grin. "You're not getting any younger, and you've never really known a man. To start with a top-tier specimen like him? Totally worth the wait."

As a doctor, Quintina was open-minded and blunt about such things.

Vivica was so embarrassed she pinched her friend's side. "That's some R-rated commentary! Even if he stays, there are plenty of rooms in this house. We'd sleep separately, of course!"

"Are you dense? When it comes to adult relationships, you get straight to the point! Of course you're supposed to sleep together!"

They were laughing and teasing as they reached the bottom of the stairs, only to find Joseph waiting there.

Quintina's smile was triumphant. "Mr. Baird, I won't disturb you two any longer. Thank you for the gift."

She held up the handbag.

Joseph gave a slight nod.

"I'll walk you out," Vivica offered, but Quintina pushed her back gently. "Don't worry about it. Go spend time with Chaim."

With that, she made a breezy exit.

Still, Vivica walked to the doorway and watched until her friend's car disappeared down the drive.

Her eyes fell on the other car parked in the courtyard, and her thoughts spun into chaos again.
