The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 477

Chapter 477 A Desperate Second Attempt

“No, don’t!” Whitney cried. “The chicks are so cute. How could you stew them?”

Finisher

She quickly shielded the chicks like a protective mother hen. Even Floyd shook his head hard in protest.

Amelia opened her mouth but said nothing.

What part of these chickens was cute, exactly?

Jeremy glanced at Amelia’s puzzled yet amused face and couldn’t help smiling. He immediately chose her side. “Fine. When they grow nice and plump, I’ll make you some chicken soup.”

“Okay.” Amelia smiled softly.

This man really understood her.

Whitney had no words.

It was true. Once a son grows up, he belongs to someone else. Sigh.

“Oh, right,” Whitney added. “It’s still early. How about we all go to the market together to buy groceries?

“Jeremy said he wants to cook dinner for us later. Let’s go pick things out together.”

The moment she finished speaking, Floyd nodded eagerly.

He rarely went out to see the world before. But as long as he was with them, he felt brave enough to go anywhere.

He wasn’t as resistant as before. He wasn’t scared or anxious either.

Floyd felt happy and safe.

“He’s cooking?” Amelia coughed lightly. “Hmm, maybe we should just eat out?”

Letting that kitchen disaster walk into the kitchen again felt risky. Eating out sounded much safer and more relaxing.

That was Amelia’s first thought.

“No, no, you don’t understand,” Whitney said quickly. “My silly son has been practicing hard at home lately. He’s not the same as before.

“Trust me. He can do it!”

For her son’s happiness and for her own dream of one day hugging a chubby little grandson, Whitney spared no effort praising him.

The food he had made before was honestly a little scary, but the poor son still made one last desperate

attempt.

Seeing how stubborn and determined her son was, Whitney felt she had to support him.

Chapter 477 A Desperate Second Attempt

Worried Amelia might say no, Whitney put on a pitiful look and pleaded again.

“Amelia, just say yes this one time. I’m his mom, and I’ve never eaten a meal my son cooked.

“I finally get this chance because of you,” she added softly. “Please don’t turn him down.”

Jeremy was speechless.

Now it was his turn to feel something was off. Somehow, he had suddenly become an unfilial son.

Still, ever since that last kitchen disaster, he had been practicing hard. Day after day.

He was very confident this time. He was sure he would finally succeed.

He shot a look at the little kid nearby.

Floyd understood instantly. He ran over on his short legs, carefully tugged on Amelia’s sleeve, and looked up at her with hopeful eyes.

He wanted to eat Jeremy’s cooking too.

By now, Floyd was familiar with Jeremy. He knew Jeremy really liked Amelia, and he wanted them to get along even better.

If the two of them ended up together and took him along, it would feel just like a family of three.

He really wished he could stay with them forever.

When Jeremy gave him a look, he picked up the hint and reacted right away.

“Alright, alright. Let’s go,” Amelia said, half laughing, half helpless.

This was the first time she had ever been chased by two adults and one child, all insisting on feeding her. She really couldn’t bring herself to disappoint them.

The moment she agreed, they got excited and hurried toward the door.

Before leaving, Amelia took out a pair of black contact lenses and prepared to put them on Floyd.

His eyes were beautiful just the way they were, but not everyone would see it that way.

To be safe, in case they ran into someone rude, jealous, or plain crazy, she decided it was better to cover his eye color.

Once she finished treating his body properly, she was confident that within a year, his eye color would return to normal.

The damage to his body would be healed too.

“Can I really wear contacts?” Floyd asked in sign language, looking at her with curiosity. “The doctor said my eyes aren’t suitable for this. He said I’d go blind.”

“Who said that? Which doctor?” Amelia replied calmly. “That doctor was lying to you.”

There was nothing wrong with his eyes. The issue came from physical damage and side effects from all the drugs he had been injected with as an experiment.

Contacts weren’t a problem at all.

She had even prepared the best material-soft, comfortable, and specially made for children.

“Okay. I trust you,” Floyd replied without hesitation.

He was one hundred percent sure of one thing: he would rather believe Amelia than believe a single word his sister had ever told him.
