Chapter 428 The Mask Slips
Floyd shook his head and said nothing.

“Didn’t I tell you to eat properly and study like a good boy? You haven’t even finished a third of the schedule I set for you these past few days.”
Sabrina walked over and glanced at his daily itinerary. He hadn’t even completed a third of it.
A wave of irritation flashed through her.
Because of his autism, Floyd had never attended school. Instead, elite tutors were hired to teach him at home.
Different subjects were scheduled every day, and he studied entirely from the estate.
Although he was autistic, his intelligence was extraordinary. Even without formal schooling, he excelled in every subject.
He rarely made mistakes on subjects he’d been taught or tests he’d taken.
Whenever there were standardized exams, the Jordans would bring home test papers from various prestigious schools for him to complete. Without exception, he always scored perfectly.
If not for his autism, this child would be considered a rare genius.
And not just any genius, but an all-around prodigy.
Beyond academics, his artistic abilities and skills in chess were all top-tier.
Because of this, the Jordans valued him highly.
Since he refused to attend school, having tutors teach him at home was a perfectly good alternative.
But these past few days, Floyd had not only refused to cooperate with his lessons, but he also hadn’t completed any of his scheduled subjects.
He was clearly throwing a tantrum.
“What is going on with you? Why aren’t you studying properly? What are you being difficult about now?”
Sabrina looked at him, a flicker of impatience and disgust crossing her face.
Floyd shrank back at her scolding, fighting the urge to say something but shaking his head instead.
“Are you going to tell me or not? If you don’t, I’ll make sure you have a miserable time before Grandma gets back!”
She had plenty of ways to make this little brat’s life difficult.
Floyd shrank back again in fear. After a moment’s hesitation, he decided to share what was on his mind.
Using sign language, he carefully expressed himself. “Sabrina, I want to play with Ms. Pretty. Can you bring

her to the estate?
“I promise I won’t say anything I shouldn’t. I just want to play with her.”
“Ms. Pretty? Who’s Ms. Pretty?”

Sabrina didn’t understand at first. After a long moment, it finally clicked. “You mean Amelia? Amelia from the scientific conference?”
When Floyd heard this and confirmed she was talking about Amelia, he nodded eagerly in excitement.
Once Sabrina was certain he meant that woman, she couldn’t hold back. She slapped him across the face.
Just like that, she struck a soft, delicate child without mercy.
“You’re that close with that woman? You’ve only met her once! You barely talked! And you’re already calling her Ms. Pretty?
“What’s so pretty about her anyway? Besides, that woman is cunning and manipulative. How do you know she’s not just using you?
“From now on, you are not allowed to mention that woman or have anything to do with her!”
Sabrina knew no one else would be around at this hour, so she let her true colors show completely.
She was absolutely furious.
She had worked so hard to groom this brother of hers, hoping he would amount to something in the future.
It was bad enough that he was distant with her, his own sister. But now he was attached to a woman he’d barely met, someone he’d only seen once.
What infuriated her most was that this woman had stolen her fiancé.
Floyd, having been slapped, looked terrified again, mixed with confusion and sadness.
He didn’t understand why his sister was so angry or why he couldn’t see Amelia.
This clearly wasn’t the first time he’d been hit. He didn’t cry, didn’t struggle, and didn’t try to tell anyone. He just stayed silent.
Just then, a voice suddenly spoke up, “Sabrina, you’ve lost your temper again. I’ve told you so many times not to hit Floyd. And even if you do, you shouldn’t hit him somewhere so obvious.”
The sudden voice startled Sabrina badly.
