Chapter 422 Kitchen Catastrophe
It seemed like her son winning over the beauty was just around the corner.

Genetics really was something else. His father had been quite the charmer back in the day, and clearly her son had inherited that perfectly.
With that thought, Whitney went all in to help her son out, laying it on thick as she turned to Amelia.
“Amelia, the Curran men aren’t just hopeless romantics. They’re also incredible cooks.
“Don’t let Jeremy’s pampered appearance fool you. He’s actually amazing in the kitchen. He inherited that talent from his father.
“He doesn’t just show off his skills for anyone, you know. This is actually the first time I’ve ever seen him cook for someone else, and that someone is you.” She chuckled warmly.
Sitting beside her, Amelia let out a polite little laugh along with her,
She couldn’t help but think-the Curran men were hopeless romantics? Wade was no saint, and whether he was actually romantic was debatable.
Besides, Whitney barely came home a few times a year. It made perfect sense that she’d never seen Jeremy cook for anyone else.
Amelia had a lot of thoughts running through her mind, but she kept them to herself.
“Jeremy’s making all your favorite dishes. Both he and I know exactly what you like, so make sure you eat plenty, okay?”
Barely a few seconds after they finished talking, a loud sizzling and popping erupted from the kitchen, followed by a resounding “bang.”
“What … what was that?” Whitney was startled.
“Ahem, it’s nothing. Just added a little too much oil, that’s all.” Jeremy quickly explained.
He looked at the ingredients he had prepared, then at the steak he’d burned to a charred crisp and the fish that had fallen apart into chunks.
For the first time in his life, he began to question himself and everything he thought he knew.
When Aidan had taught him over the past few days, everything had sounded so simple. He understood it all right away.
He’d even watched a bunch of cooking videos afterward and thought it looked like a piece of cake. He had every step memorized.
So why was it that his eyes understood everything perfectly, but his hands completely failed him?
And now, with the two women on the couch watching him, Jeremy felt the pressure mounting.
Whitney was equally nervous.

Chapter 422 Kitchen Catastrophe
She had just bragged about him so much. Was her son really about to make her eat her words?
Oh no, oh no, oh no.

As a cloud of smoke wafted toward them, the two women couldn’t stay seated any longer and rushed over to see what was happening.
“Oh my God, what happened here? Don’t tell me this is just from adding too much oil?”
Whitney stared at the disaster zone that was now the kitchen. Everything she had just said to her future daughter-in-law had completely backfired.
This painful lesson taught her never to oversell anything ever again.
Amelia, completely unaware that she was being regarded as a “future daughter-in-law,” surveyed the kitchen wreckage and offered a concerned suggestion.
“Um, why don’t we just go out to eat?”
It was just a meal, after all. There was no need to turn it into such a circus.
Plenty of restaurants out there served delicious food. They could eat, pay, and be on their way.
How simple would that be?
Just as Amelia finished speaking, both Jeremy and Whitney glanced at Randy, who promptly stepped forward with perfect timing.
“Mrs. Curran, Mr. Jeremy, great news! Mr. Fraser just said he’s feeling much better. He’s already cooking in the main kitchen.”
“Really? Oh, that’s wonderful! We don’t have to go out after all.”
Whitney seamlessly picked up the conversation, beaming as she took Amelia’s hand and led her toward the garden.
“Amelia, let’s go sit outside for a bit. Our personal chef really does make the most amazing food. Trust me on this.”
“Um, okay.”
What else could Amelia say?
The hosts had spoken, so she certainly had no objections.
Still, something felt a little off. Aidan’s recovery seemed awfully… well-timed.
“You idiot! How did you not inherit your father’s cooking skills? You nearly burned down the kitchen just trying to make a meal!
