The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 100

“Real men stand firm!” Nathan exclaimed, exuding dominance with a wave of his hand.

At that moment, Finnegan felt a sense of admiration for Nathan's lifetime of dedication to the nation.

However, his own belief remained unshaken. “I might not have that kind of ambition.”

Nathan's disappointment flickered in his eyes. “You've inherited Dr. Aiello's teachings. Won't that go to waste?”

Finnegan nodded and replied, “Throughout history, countless great individuals have emerged, but how many truly achieved lasting success? How can my paltry skills even compare to that? All those accomplished individuals from the past met their ends and faded into oblivion. Should I really expect to have better luck than them?”

Disappointment grew in Nathan's heart when he heard those words. “Without them, would we be where we are today?”

Finnegan's voice grew more serious as he replied, “I just want to be with my family and do the things that matter to me. Why should I flaunt my skills just to grab attention when they're not even necessary?”

Nathan was initially disappointed in Finnegan, and his disappointment gradually transformed into admiration.

Finnegan did not lack ambition, but he understood that showing off one's skills could attract unnecessary resentment.

Possessing exceptional skills yet remaining humble and composed was a kind of character that many young people lacked nowadays.

Even a small achievement often prompted them to seek attention from everyone around them.

“I guess I've misjudged,” Nathan admitted, realizing he had misunderstood Finnegan's lack of ambition.

Finnegan pretended not to know what Nathan was thinking just now. “Old Mr. Wright, why aren't you asking about Ms. Wright's condition?”

“Why bother when I already know the outcome?”

Given Finnegan's identity as the sole disciple of the Eternal Medicine God, Sawyer Aiello, Nathan had already known what the outcome would be once Finnegan agreed to visit the Wright residence.

Thus, he didn't need to ask too many questions.

Finnegan's admiration for Nathan grew a little more.

No wonder this old man could lay the foundation for Nuthana's rising economy in the country!

Just then, his phone buzzed in his pocket.

He pulled it out and saw an unfamiliar number ending in six eights.

It was clearly not a scam call.

He answered the call, and Tristan's sinister chuckle rang out. “Finnegan, you must be in a bad mood now, huh?”

Well, well, who would've thought Tristan would call?

Finnegan sneered, “I hate to disappoint you, but I'm in a rather good mood right now. The Chomsky family has only one day left. Are you going to yield now?”

“Your tone tells me that your sister lucked out and survived the crash, huh?”

Finnegan's body trembled when he heard that. His face turned pale as he asked, “You're saying you orchestrated the accident on Orchard Road this morning?”

He thought about Xavier and his sister who had gotten involved in a car accident that morning. They had driven Rhiannon's car.

“I'm not confessing to anything. Don't jump to conclusions and accuse me just because you can. I just saw the news about a car accident and realized it was your sister's car that got totaled. I figured I'd call to ask about it and give you another chance. I'll give you an hour to treat Killian at the Chomsky residence, or something will happen to someone important to you today. Don't think I'm just making up threats because I can predict the future!”

With that, Tristan hung up.

Finnegan clenched his phone after hanging up, his eyes burning with anger. “Tristan Chomsky!”

When he first heard about Xavier and his sister's accident in the morning, he had brushed it off as an accident and had been secretly happy that they had gotten what they deserved for driving away Rhiannon's car.

However, he now felt a mixture of anger and relief.
