The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 326

Something flickered in David’s chest. He opened his mouth to say something, but just then, his palm felt empty. Ella had already slipped her hand away.

People started to gather around Ella, mostly young, successful types. One of them, Luke, was a Harvard grad too and already making waves in tech as the CEO of a buzzing new company.

Luke studied Ella’s beautiful face and grinned. “So, Ella, can I ask, are you seeing anyone?”

David watched her closely. Ella just raised her perfectly shaped brows and replied, “Single, and available.”

Single, and available.

Those words made Luke’s eyes light up. He pulled out his phone. “Hey, since we’re both Harvard folks, let’s swap numbers.”

Ella nodded. “Sure, Luke.”

They exchanged contacts, just like that.

David stood there, remembering when Ella had turned down his friend request. She hadn’t wanted to add him. But with Luke, it was no problem at all.

A hollow ache settled in David’s chest, like something important had just slipped through his fingers.

“Ella!”

Right then, Grandma Jill showed up with Jessa, Maureen, and Rachel in tow. But they couldn’t get close. Ella was in the VIP section, and they didn’t have access.

A staff member blocked their way. “Sorry, ladies, you can’t go any further.”

Grandma Jill craned her neck, her voice trembling with emotion. “I’m here for Ella. I’m her grandmother.”
