The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 280

Sarah jumped in right away. “Jessa’s totally right. That so-called genius girl is probably chubby and plain. As soon as you see her in real life, you’ll lose all your illusions.”

Jessa and Sarah were both piling on, throwing shade at the genius girl and trying to get everyone else on their side.

Cedric just shrugged, not bothered at all. “Pretty faces are a dime a dozen and honestly, they bore me. Even if this genius girl is average looking, I still like her. Marrying her would be great for my family’s genes.”

It was obvious Cedric was obsessed with this genius girl. There was no way anyone could talk him out of it.

The other rich kids started laughing. “Mr. Grimm, are you even sure she’s single?”

Truth was, Cedric didn’t even know who the genius girl actually was. Not long ago, he’d tagged her in a group chat, asking if she had a boyfriend, and all she replied was one word: get lost.

Cedric whipped out his phone. “I’m texting her right now.”

Everyone leaned in, excited. “Do it, do it!”

Cedric pulled up the group chat, tagged E, and started typing. [Hey, want me to set you up with a boyfriend? He’s good looking, super charming, and completely into you.]

He sent a long message and waited.

Nothing.

The group burst out laughing. “Wow, someone actually left Cedric on read! Usually, the girls are tripping over themselves to reply.”

Cedric rolled his eyes. “Come on, she probably just hasn’t checked her phone yet.”

Right then, Mr. Shepherd dropped some files in the chat and tagged David and E. [Here’s the info for the summit. Please look it over when you have time.]

David had been lounging on the sofa, not paying much attention to the chaos around him. He glanced at his phone, saw Mr. Shepherd’s message, and replied with a single word. [Sure.]
