Lance Carew didn’t know why he suddenly became a ghost.
He just remembered driving, feeling the temperature behind him getting colder and colder, even the heater in the car was useless, so instinctively, he glanced in the rearview mirror.
And in that glance, he suddenly saw a pale-faced, bleeding man sitting in the back of his car. The man’s eyes met his in the mirror and gave him a sinister smile.
Lance Carew was so frightened he slammed on the brakes, and then...
His soul was scared right out of him.
He even wondered if he was dead.
He was trying to find someone for help along the way, but no one could see him, until he saw Violet Allen.
When he saw her for the first time, he seemed to have seen his savior; after all, Violet Allen studies metaphysics, she could definitely help him.
But at the second glance, his face froze suddenly.
Violet Allen, in front of him, was dressed in an outfit that was relatively modern but fully black. With her black baseball hat featuring the words "Peace" and that thing in her hand... wasn’t it a Mourning Stick?
Because the last time Violet Allen scared him, she said she was Life Impermanence. He had specially looked it up later and was dismissive at that time, thinking she was just trying to scare people.
How could there possibly be any Impermanence in this world?
But now, inexplicably, he had become a ghost, and Violet Allen was floating before him in a full Impermanence costume.
Lance Carew shivered all over, suddenly showing fear,
"You... you really are that Impermanence, you’re not here to take my soul to the Underworld, are you?!"
Violet Allen originally wanted to ask him what was going on. If he pleaded earnestly, it wasn’t impossible for her to send his soul back.
However, with his sudden reaction, Violet Allen was first taken aback, and then quickly responded, slightly lowering her head while looking up at him.
And then, with a blank expression and a sinister tone, she said,
"Lance Carew, your hour has come, follow me."
On hearing these words, Lance Carew was scared out of his wits, screaming in terror immediately,
"No! I’m not going with you! You can’t take me! I can’t die! I don’t want to die!!"
He screamed and turned to run, while Violet Allen unhurriedly raised her Mourning Stick and chased after him,
"Don’t run~ Come back to the Underworld with me! I’m just doing my job today; I’ll give you a new ghost gift package~ No one else has it~"
"Ahhhh don’t chase me!! I don’t want a gift package!"
"Don’t run! For the sake of old friends, I’ll be gentle~"
"Ahhh let me go! Mom! Save me!"
"Calling for your mom won’t help~ Hand over the soul!"
One soul running and one chasing, the commotion scared all the wandering souls and ghosts around them, who fled in all directions.
Where did this new Impermanence come from? We hadn’t seen one in Capital Metropolitan before.
Oh, how ferocious...
Better run.
Violet Allen chased Lance Carew for eight streets, and when she saw he was sufficiently spooked, she finally stopped and flicked the Mourning Stick in her hand.
The Mourning Stick instantly turned into a paper flag and rope, flying toward him, binding the still-fleeing Lance Carew and dragging him back.
Violet Allen slapped him on the forehead,
"Behave! If you dare resist arrest, that’s an added offense, got it?"
Lance Carew cried so much his soul body was trembling, still trying to plead with Violet Allen, but she ignored him, dragging him along, looking pleased and satisfied.
After asking where he had the accident, she directly took him back there.
As it turned out, Lance Carew’s car door was open, but his body was gone.
