A light, casual remark left Gregory Xander’s face darkened.
The staff from the show cheered silently; after all, he had just scolded them, too.
They had the proper permissions to film at the academy, so why was it being called "nonsensical"?
You’re the one who’s nonsensical!
Seeing Gregory Xander about to lose his temper, Nathan White quickly mustered the courage to step in front of Scarlett Jennings. "Senior Brother Xander, if you keep this up, I’m gonna tell the dean."
It was a very elementary school threat, but Senior Brother Xander actually listened.
He gave Nathan White a fierce glare, then let out a cold snort before storming off, not forgetting to warn everyone not to touch the academy’s stone sculptures.
Nathan White watched him leave and finally let out a sigh of relief, reassuring everyone, "Senior Brother Xander might be harsh, but he’s not a bad person."
Evander Simpson, who had remained silent until now, suddenly spoke, asking, "His last name is Xander. Is he from the Mountain First Sect’s Xander Family?"
Nathan White nodded eagerly like a pecking chicken at his words.
Evander Simpson immediately understood, "That explains it."
He explained to everyone,
"The Xander Family from the Mountain First Sect in Capital Metropolitan is a century-old lineage. Their disciples at the Mountain Gate are all about tradition and old-school rules. To them, live-streaming shows are just lowbrow entertainment, so it’s not surprising they’d speak out against it."
With Evander Simpson’s explanation, everyone got the picture.
"I get it, old-school traditionalist."
"No wonder he talks so... old-fashioned."
Ariel Zimmerman chuckled, "I thought Evander was already quite old-fashioned, didn’t expect there’s someone even more so!"
Evander: ???
After this little episode, no one felt like continuing the tour.
Nathan White then led the group to complete their enrollment.
On the way, they didn’t encounter any other academy students.
Donovan Jennings looked at the empty courtyards and asked out of habit,
"Wasn’t today supposed to be the registration day? Why aren’t there any students?"
When he spoke up, it triggered everyone else’s realization.
Yeah, weren’t the freshmen supposed to be registering today?
Nathan White softly explained, "Most of the freshmen have already arrived earlier, you guys came quite late."
Only then did the group realize that the freshman registration lasted three days, and most had come on the first day. Scarlett Jennings had chosen the last day.
In order to avoid disrupting the other freshmen, the academy also arranged for the show to film on the last day.
They followed Nathan White to an office.
The teacher handling enrollment was the same Teacher Yan who had delivered Scarlett Jennings’s acceptance letter.
Seeing Scarlett enter, Teacher Yan instinctively smiled.
However, seeing the entourage behind her, the smile on his face froze.
But he quickly recovered,
"Miss Jennings, and these must be the guests from the show, right? The dean mentioned this."
Teacher Yan’s gaze swept across the guests, pausing slightly on Luca Jennings and his companions.
Before he could speak, Lucas Jennings jumped in,
"We’re not family, we’re temporary guests!"
Teacher Yan squinted slightly but didn’t say anything further.
He proceeded with Scarlett’s enrollment and briefly explained the academy’s plans for both the new students and the show crew.
Seeing his task complete, Nathan White slowly inched towards the door. Just as he was about to sneak off, Teacher Yan, who had his back to the door, unexpectedly called out to stop him,
He had been worried that Scarlett would have to rough it.
Judging by the basic conditions, he could get someone to add the amenities. Not to mention, there should be all the necessary appliances, air conditioning, washing machine, and a refrigerator, right?
It was just a question of whether the electrical circuits in the mountain could handle it, or if the academy accepted donations, he could improve the telecom tower here...
As for Lucas Jennings, he never stayed in school before and was unaware of typical dorm conditions. Watching the single room now, all he felt was dissatisfaction.
This room fell short compared to home.
Could he bring in a renovation team?
He recalled that his sister liked the cute princess castle style.
The three men from the Jennings Family critically pondered how to enhance Scarlett Jennings’s dorm environment.
Scarlett herself had no strong opinions; she wasn’t picky about living conditions, just wanted some peace.
Meanwhile, other guests and the audience were bursting with envy.
[Crying, this is my dream dorm, I’m not lying!]
[Jealous of university students with four in a room!]
[I had eight people in my dorm, who’s jealous, I won’t say!]
[Crying, is the school really off-limits for tours? I really want to visit! I’m not joking!]
[I declare this is my dream school! Mom, I want to go here!]
[Such a big place, only thirty students? Isn’t that a waste of resources? Adding me wouldn’t hurt!]
[So what are the qualifications for admission here, someone tell me, put me out of my misery ahhh...]
[To the upstairs commenter, hold on, I’ll start seducing the dean to loosen the admission policies!]
In the lively flurry of the tour, abruptly, the next door’s dorm room near Scarlett Jennings was flung open from the inside with a loud bang.
The crew was startled, fearing another angry Senior Brother Xander.
But then, they saw a young girl in the same blue Taoist robe as Nathan, who stumbled out from the dorm next door, her eyes lighting up as she recognized someone in the crew.
