Warren squinted, smirking at the couple huddled together.
"Look at these lovebirds, so broke, they're practically begging for failure!"
Isaac's arrival brought Brittany a sigh of relief.
Five minutes before the trial, the judge glanced at the empty seat of the plaintiff's attorney, then turned to Brittany, "Where is your attorney?"
Brittany glanced at the clock, grinning, "He's on his way."
Just as she finished her sentence, she looked in the direction of the entrance, her eyes a little nervous.
A steady set of footsteps echoed in the room, instantly making the judge's stern face twitch.
Larry suddenly stood up, walking toward the figure.
An eighty-year-old man walked in with clear and sharp eyes.
His entrance brought a chilling silence to the courtroom.
The judge quickly walked up to him, bowing respectfully, "Mr. Wade, are you representing Brittany?"
Anyone who had studied law could recognize this elderly man.
He was hailed as the founding father of modern law in the country and had taught in the nation's top law schools.
Nearly all of the top lawyers in Imperial City were his pupils!
His presence made Larry look dull in comparison.
Brittany was taken aback, turning to Isaac, "Zakky, he's not the lawyer we hired..."
This wasn't the lawyer Wesley had introduced!
Isaac knew who Warren had hired, so he went above and beyond to get Mr. Wade to represent them.
As Brittany voiced her surprise, he gently patted her hand, "Do you remember what I told you before?
We will win."
Isaac's gaze was deep, "The hospital must give us an explanation for your grandmother's death!"
Brittany vaguely remembered Isaac comforting her and telling her something similar when she had nightmares about her grandmother's death.
Her eyes welled up, but she was also puzzled, "How did you get Mr. Wade to represent us?"
What she wanted was not the money but a fair explanation.
Upon hearing the verdict, Warren refused to accept it and immediately filed for an appeal, but he was stopped by Larry.
"Warren, there's no point in appealing now."
Warren was still unsatisfied, glaring at Larry, "Useless!"
Larry was speechless.
That night, the hospital issued a public apology and detailed the events of that night.
After reading the apology, Brittany didn't say a word for a long time.
She stood on the balcony bathed in moonlight, surrounded by flowers that Isaac had moved to their apartment after her grandmother's death. Seeing these flowers, she felt as if her grandmother was still with her.
Isaac wrapped a warm jacket around her and whispered, "Your grandmother can finally rest in peace."
After Brittany fell asleep, Isaac called Mr. Wade to express his gratitude.
Just as he was about to go back to the room, he received a call from Nathan, "Mr. Salter, we've found the little girl from back then."
