The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 198

Hannah's train of thought was derailed, "Lionel, why are you still up?"

Lionel was a workaholic through and through. Aside from work, he was almost always in bed by nine, rarely staying up late.

But it was late now, and he was still awake. This was not normal.

Lionel caught hold of Hannah, his gaze landing on Derek, "Derek, my sister is a real innocent. If you have any issues, come to me directly. Don't drag her into it."

Hannah sensed the gravity of the situation. Her brother was always a gentleman, hardly ever losing his cool. But now, he was visibly repulsed by Derek.

Derek knew Lionel had misunderstood his relationship with Hannah, but he couldn't be bothered to explain. He chuckled, turned around, and left.

"What's the beef between you and Derek?" Hannah asked.

Lionel, stone-faced, asked, "How did you meet him?"

"It was accidental." Hannah spilled all the beans to Lionel, then asked him, "What happened between you two?"

"I don't want you to have anything to do with him anymore." Lionel avoided the question and walked off.

Hannah followed him closely, "Brother."

"Hannah." Lionel stopped in his tracks, "If you continue to be in touch with Derek, don't call me your brother anymore."

Hannah's heart jolted. She knew he was really pissed off, "Lionel."

Lionel looked furious. He returned to his room, his breathing ragged. Then, he pounded the table, his eyes filled with disgust and gloom.

Hearing the noise, Tanya came out of her room.

"Mom, what's wrong with my brother?" Hannah was confused. It was the first time she had seen her brother so repulsed by someone, to the extent that she was also implicated.

Tanya got a gist of the situation, her face grim.

"Derek is bad news. Keep your distance." Tanya was clearly also very displeased with Derek.

The friend was very friendly and offered to design the renovation for free, without charging any fees. Brittany didn't like taking advantage of people, so she suggested a meal together. They discussed the design ideas and budget for the house through a video call.

Brittany calculated the funds she could use at hand, as well as her income for the next few months, then said, "Around 600,000 dollars, I guess. My husband likes a minimalist design style."

600,000 dollars. The friend thought the budget was more than sufficient.

Isaac didn't disturb her and went back to his room to work. By the time he was done, it was almost eleven. Brittany was still on the video call. Isaac rubbed his forehead, walked into the living room, and silently watched her.

Brittany saw him come out and signaled, "Almost done."

The person on the other end of the video call seemed to sense something and laughed, "Bri, you've been married for so long, but you haven't shown us your husband. When are you planning to treat us to a meal?"

Brittany's wedding news was no secret, and her close friends all knew.

"We'll talk about it later." Brittany said.

Brittany blushed after being teased, hung up the call, and closed her computer. She stood up, and walked over to Isaac, "My friend said he can design the renovation for free. I've arranged a meal, will you come with me?"
