The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 118

In Manuel’s eyes, all this was Gwen's fault.

Which high-society man doesn't have a string of ladies? What's it to her what he did outside? He never thought about ditching her!

Why on earth was she making a fuss about wanting a divorce?

He got kicked out of the Salter family because she blew things out of proportion!

Isaac found this all a big joke when he heard it.

What a low, shameless man, and to think he was his biological father!

“The only mistake my mother made was marrying you.”

“Isaac, you—” Manuel looked as if he’d been slapped, his face flushed with rage. “I'm your father! How could you talk to me like that?”

He should've known that a son born to Gwen wouldn't turn out well.

There was a flash of anger in Isaac's eyes, but for Grace's sake, he held it back.

Manuel, however, took it as fear and said sternly, “For the past twenty years, I've indeed turned a blind eye to you and Noel Salter, but it was all your mother's doing!”

He was still playing the blame game even now.

“In the future, I'll make it up to you two, but you have to accept Marcel. His mother has been with me for so many years, and I owe her that much. Marcel is smart and has a knack for business. You should let him into your company and give him a vice president’s position. He's your brother; he won't hurt you.”

Manuel thought his arrangement was reasonable: “Also, you have to give him some shares. As part of the Salter family, it's his due. Don't blame me. Marcel isn't well, so I've favored him a bit these years, but from now on, I'll treat you three brothers fairly. You should help each other and support the Salter family.”

This was all just noise for Isaac.

“Why aren't you saying anything?”

Manuel had said a lot without getting a response from Isaac, so he frowned.

Could it be that he was unwilling?

“Mr. Salter.” Isaac’s words were as sharp as always, “Since when did beggars become so brazen?”

Manuel hadn’t been faithful to anyone over the years. There were more than one woman who had borne him children.

He walked over to the car, opened the door, and paused for a moment.

“None of those women are allowed in the Salter family!”

He got into the car, shut the door, and drove off.

Manuel was stunned on the spot; clearly, he didn't expect Isaac to know all this. He had insisted in front of Grace how much he loved that woman, but now Isaac had called his bluff.

Manuel stood there. After a while, he left with a sullen face.

......

When Brittany got home, she moved back into her own room, changed all the bed linen, and put them into the washing machine.

She rolled up her sleeves and cleaned the whole house. While she was busy, the doorbell rang.
