The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 117

She's super cautious. On paper, she's just a rich girl who recently returned to the country with zero connections to Marcel. Who'd suspect her?

But Marcel begged to differ. "If she was able to snag Isaac, she's got to have some tricks up her sleeve, right?"

How could an innocent girl like her win over Grace?

Zella frowned slightly.

"The Salter family is hosting a bash next month. I don't give a damn how you do it, but you've gotta bring Brittany."

Marcel continued, "She's our only shot. If the Salters catch wind of Isaac's secret marriage, his wedding is worthless. The relatives won't just let this slide."

"Alright."

Zella always played ball with him. Seeing her agree so readily, Marcel's eyes softened a bit.

"If you do well, I'll consider getting engaged to you."

He was not opposed to settling down and starting a family with Zella.

As long as she keeps playing by his rules, why not give her a title?

Zella's eyes lit up. She's known Marcel since she was seven, and now it's been a full seventeen years.

In these seventeen years, her only dream was to marry Marcel.

Now, that dream was about to come true. How could she possibly back out?

...

The Salter family's old mansion

When Isaac helped Grace out of the car, he immediately spotted the black car nearby.

Manuel had been waiting for quite a while. Seeing them return, he got out of the car.

"Mother."

Manuel and Isaac look strikingly similar. Manuel's a bit older, and despite living the high life all these years, the signs of age are still etched onto his face.

Grace snorted, "I told you not to come. Who let you in?"

"Zac, let's go," Grace said.

Manuel tried to follow, but was stopped by the butler. He had no choice but to give up.

Grace knew that Isaac didn't want to face Manuel, so she gently patted his hand and said, "Zac, no matter what, he's still your father. You should be polite to him in front of others, understood?"

They could quarrel in private, but in public, Isaac couldn't take the initiative to break with Manuel.

Isaac knew this well. If it weren’t for the family's reputation, he wouldn't have tolerated Manuel until now.

"Grandma, I understand."

When Isaac settled, Grace went out of the mansion, Manuel was still there. He stared at Isaac with an unhappy face and asked, "Did you say something to your grandma? Now she's cold to me. Did you stir up trouble behind my back?"

"Mr. Salter, maybe you should reflect on yourself."

Isaac said calmly, "You abandoned your wife and kids and ignored Grandma for twenty years. Now, out of the blue, you're here for reconciliation. Your motive is pretty obvious."

Manuel, feeling exposed, was furious. "Isn't this all because of you guys? If your mom could've been reasonable and not made a big fuss with me, would I have broken up with the Salters?"
